  • Hi Eduardo,
Trying a slower burn speed might help.

In the Burn Options, can you try selecting a burn speed of 8X to see if that works better?

  • I have already tried with the lowest possible speed, and the error persists. I also updated the version of firmware of drive to the latest available, and the error persists.

  • I recommend that you try a different batch or brand of discs. There's no indication of a drive problem. There are numerous SCSI errors and I think, in this case, those are caused by the media (which is the type of error you're getting).

  • I've tried to burn on a DVD instead a CD, and it works.
    Thank you very much.

  • What you need to do now is get a different batch or brand of CD's to check if what I suggested is the problem. Maybe you have a friend who will give you one. It's not unusual for someone to say that they can burn to a CD and not a DVD, and vice-versa. That's normally a firmware issue. However, you have the latest firmware.

As an aside, I have the same drive and don't have any problems but I'm using firmware version 1.01. Other people with the same drive and using firmware versions 1.02 and 1.03 (which you have) have reported burning problems. I can't say that the firmware is the issue in all cases and there's no suggestion that it's the problem here.

  • I have the same drive/firmware and similar issue. I was able to write a blu-ray disk a couple nights ago, but last night I started getting this problem with blu-ray. No problem writing a DVD though. I am using Nero 14 Burning Rom.

  • Hi Walter-

I don't like mixing the problems of different versions of Nero although they might be the same or similar. Each version has it's own quirks. Would you start a new thread which includeds the nerohistory.log file? You can get it here-

  • We kinda beat the heck out of this here and in this thread-

    http://forum.nero.com/nero_eng/topics...

I still think there's a problem with the 1.03 firmware. I don't have any blu-ray discs, especially DL discs, to test with (I don't get paid for helping in the forum and I'm not going to spend a lot of money on expensive discs).

Since you have v2018, you can always run this past tech support by going here-

    http://www.nero.com/enu/support/conta...

    and submitting the contact form.

If you do, please let me know what they have to say. I already know they're going to ask you to try a different disc, different batch of discs or a different brand of disc. I'm not convinced any of those are the issue.
