I am trying to burn a 5.9gb disk onto a 4.7gb disk. I have done this in the distant pass, but seem to be unable to do it using Nero 2015 classic. I seem to remember we had to rip the original disk - think this was to the hard dric=ve.
Is there a way and if so, I would need step-by-step instructions? (Getting long in the tooth now!)

If you're using Nero Video, it's automatically set to Fit to Disc in the Recording Format Options. If it doesn't work, you can select the quality option manually.
You can also use Recode.
Gotta git. Talk to you tomorrow. -

Hi Wither,
Many thanks for your reply. I'm using Nero 2015 Classic, so I will try Recode, if I can find out how to use it. -

Tried, and still am having a go with Recode to see how I get on -

It all depends on if you want to maintain the original disc structure. In Nero Video, you could select Import, Import Disc and import all the titles. You won't get the menus.
In Recode, you would select Import DVD and recode it to DVD 5. You would need to select Fit to Target. Note that there will be some loss of quality.
If your original disc is copy protected, you won't be able to do anything with it in Nero. -

Have used Recode Import DVD, .having to do it again. Seems like I had 3 versions, so scrubbed them and tried again, but haven't Recoded in DVD 5. Back to the drawing board a bit later.

A DVD 5 is the size of disc that you said you wanted to burn to (4.7 GB).

OK. Will try that later. Got some domestics to get on with. I've managed o convert the video to MP4, so tat'll be OK for now.

You don't need to convert the file if you're simply recoding a disc to another disc. After the disc is imported, just select DVD for the device.
