I’m Frustrated

Burning problem

Just upgraded to 2016 Platinum. I haven't used the program for some time so I may be doing something wrong. I am trying to burn some mp3 files as cd audio. It doesn't matter whether I use express or burning rom cd audio or cd rom, I only get MP3s on the CD. Any suggestions please. Thanks

  • Hi Bill,
It sounds like you are selecting the wrong type of audio disk option ...
Producing a "Jukebox" or data disk instead of an "old fashioned" CD audio disk?

    Example below using Nero Express:

Make sure to choose the "Audio CD" option

    • p.s. ... I just noticed that the track order gets changed ... never noticed that before.

However, the result you should get this way is a "normal" audio CD that does not have individual .mp3 data files, but just a continuous "track" that plays just like a standard Music CD.

The reason I suggest lowering the burn speed is that I have found you get better results with a slow burn speed.

      p.p.s.

If you examine the result using Windows file explorer, you will see a number of "tracks" listed as .cda entries, each 1k in size.

  • Thanks for the detailed reply but I have not been choosing the juke box option. I have used CD-ROM(UDF) and Audio CD. I then browse and select the MP3 files and burn. They arrive on the CD as MP3. This has only happened since I upgraded to V 2016. I agree with the slow burn speed because if you burn at high speeds, the result is often not playable on some CD players.
