Can I burn a video TV series M4V that I bought from Itunes store and wish to burn a dvd with it
I just bought a TV series Revenge season got it on a USB key but I wish to burn it with Nero and do a DVD with that M4V files. Is Nero doing such a burning. Please let me know.

Hello Nicole,
I just tried this with a free episode of "Community" that I received from the iTunes store - and...
No, you cannot use Nero Video to burn this to DVD. This is because:
- Nero Video does not support M4V files;
- The episode is copyright protected; I tried to 'convert' the file to another format using a third-party program (HandBrake), but that failed due to the same reason.
I even tried to change the file extension to "mp4" and import it - it failed to add.
Sorry! Can anyone think of a work around for Nicole? -
-
Nero Video does support *.m4v files (depending on the used codecs). The only problem with your iTunes files is the DRM (copy-protection).
Since bypassing or removing of DRM is illegal in most countries we unfortunately cannot help you out here.
You should google your problem. -

Hello Mister_M;
I have Nero Video 12 and do not see "m4v" as a supported file type to be imported:
.
- Tried selecting "All Files" then picking the M4V file - it imported to 90% then froze (all files tried, does not work with any file).
- Tried changing the extension to "MP4", and this made no difference (hangs).
Am I missing something? If so, please let me know...always wanted to know how to burn non-copyrighted M4V video to DVD (without having to convert it to MPEG-2 first).- view 1 more comment

Just drag and drop the m4v from the Windows Explorer into Nero Video. I don't use the import function. It worked with every m4v I tested... Again: it does support m4v files, unless you've used some special non-standard codecs.
m4v is nothing else than mp4. Both are containers for MPEG-4 video and audio. -
-
Does not work - I get the "no" cursor (the one that looks like the 'no smoking' sign). Whatever, I'll continue converting then importing.
Yes, I am aware that m4v is simply "MPEG 4 Video" and m4a (iTunes) is for audio. Which is why it doesn't make sense that re-encoding M4V to MP4 using Nero Recode or HandBrake works.
And re: special non-standard codecs...happens on ALL of my M4V files, which are actually backups of my personal DVD collection (generated by MakeMKV). It could be a non-standard codec, but I doubt it (plays on all my Windows, Linux, Mac computers. PS3, and WD TV live endpoints in my home).
edit: Also happens on some older home movies, shot on my old JVC hi8 and for some reason saved in M4V.
Not important, I can live without this for the time being. -

I'd just like to add my 2 cents for what it's worth. You can burn apple stuff to disc. video, audio, whatever. The preferred format is .m4v. I don't know why. Apple uses "css" protection, that, as far as I know, is not removable. I have spend a great deal of time trying to do so, because, although you can burn it to disc, or a usb drive, it will only be able to be used by the computers associated with that account, if you are trying to play it on a computer. It can also be viewed if you import it into iTunes, and put it in the Home Video tab. Then you can watch it through Apple tv. But only YOUR apple tv, because, in setting up Apple TV, you have to log in using your iTunes account. (only during set up, not every time you want to use it). I bought 2 videos for my grandson, put then on flash drive, and sent it to him at college. He couldn't play them, because of the error message "this computer is not authorized...blah, blah. So bought them as gifts. Now he can watch them. He has an itunes account, so when he gets the gift certificate to download the videos, they are then associated with his iTunes account. Apple has secured their stuff, and their is no work around.
So....to summarize, due to apple security, you cannot convert their files to play on a dvd player.
If I am wrong, please let me know.
If you have your own home video type files, you can convert. I bought Wondershare Conversion software for mac, and I think its the best. I have Hand Brake too, but it has limitations. I'm sure Wondershare has this for pc. I have found the "big" conversion software, like Nero, Roxio, etc. simply ridiculous. -

No, just as Robin Persaud said, Nero does not support .m4v format, so it is unable to import M4V movies you bought from iTunes. Try Requiem, a well-known free DRM removal xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx that could help you remove the DRM protection from M4V movie safety. After that, you can import the converted M4V files to Nero for burning to DVD.

HandBrake is free and useful method: https://handbrake.fr/
The limits are it has few output formats and can't rip copy-protected DVD. So you can also fix the problems by following this: http://www.videoconverterfactory.com/... or try the alternative method that can copy all most all DVDs freely. -

CD burner is easy to find, but the problem is you can't burn CD with drm-protected m4v videos.
Try this aam4v converter called TunesKit M4V Converter that I have been using for two months. It can convert all the m4v into other formats, and the quality is great. -
