Conversion from Nero trial to Nero platinum. Tuto on the website not update (Can't find the same options in my menu) and other question

Just bought a Nero Platinum version as I could'nt go further and export my video project made with Nero trial version ( but maybe I did not understtod right ?...). Nom I'm juts trying to work on my new Nero version to work on my video Project and if I follow your tuto instructions ( how to go from a trial to new Platinum paid version), thenI don't have the same screen asa on your tuto where you show a Platinum version 2015 and I can't find at all the menu "your products".
Second question ? How to read a Nero video on a computer ? Shall I export it ? As on my computer,I apparently have no means to read my project unless I'm working on Nera programm. Thanks for your help with those 2 main fields. It's quite hurrying.

    Hi BACHELET,
To enter your Nero serial number in ... go to the Nero ControlCenter / Serial Numbers "Add" button to enter it in. (39 characters long including the hyphens.)

To make a video file to view on the computer ... Yes, you can "Export" it ... to a .mp4 file for example:

You can play the resulting .mp4 file with Nero MediaHome or other media player software - for example the free VLC Media Player software.

  • perfect Phil, thanks for your help !
I was just trying to see what it looks and sounds like on another computer and I thought that I could read my video project only by registering under... the temporary version. But now I undestand that I have to go till the end and export before reading it on another device. one more question : Once it's exported, does it remain available under Nero Progamm as a project on which I can still work on ? Or then it's too late ?

Other question: on the videos I made (from an Ipad), the sound is unfortunately too low. Is there any chance to boost this sound thanks to NERO platinum ? Or I can only do this thanks to the device I will use after for the projection of this video ?
Thanks also for your next replies and help ;-)

  • Hi BACHELET,
A Nero Video project file (.nvc) is really only a shell that contains pointers or links to the original files used to make it as well as holding the editing changes made. It does not actually contain the video.

As long as the original files remain in the exact place they were when you edited the project ... the project can be opened again to make more changes, and re-saved again, but the video would need to be exported once more to make a playable movie file, or you can create a playable DVD disc if preferred.

For the audio volume, you can make an adjustment but it is limited to +6 dB boost ...

  • Hi Phil, once my project is done and I have exported it, how do I burn it ? I found the menu but where is my video that I exported under a .mp4 ? Sorry, but I'm an absolute beginner..... Thanks for your reply

    Hi BACHELET,
I thought you wanted a video file so the "export" method makes a video file.

If you want a playable DVD, you can proceed from opening your project (provided the original files used to make it are still where they were) and continue on to add a DVD menu (or choose no menu) ... preview ... then burn to a blank DVD by having Nero Video "transcode" the project and then burn to the DVD for you.

If you want to burn the exported .mp4 file to a disk ... but one that needs software to play the file (not like the type of disk you would get from the above steps) ... you can open Nero Burning ROM and select the .mp4 file (if it fits on a DVD) to burn the file as a data DVD.

As to where the .mp4 file was exported? ... it should say in the destination folder options where it went.

In this example below ... you can see the destination folder path:

To burn the video file as a data DVD ... use Burning ROM

If you want to make a playable DVD that will play like a commercial DVD on a "standard" DVD player ....

    In Nero Video ....

    Open your project

Click on "next" until you get to the Continue your work screen ...

Select Create Disk / DVD / DVD- Video

Choose a Menu if you like, or select "Do not create a Menu"

    Next

    Preview

    Next

    Select your Burner

With a blank DVD in the burner ...

    Select "Burn"

Nero should then "Transcode" the video content and automatically burn the DVD so it has a Video_TS file structure and content that any "standard" DVD player can play.
