Converting 3GPP video files to Video File suitable to play on DVD

I have purchased Nero12 for the sole purpose of converting 3GPP video files which were recorded via my old Blackberry and MOV video files recorded via my iphone. I want to convert the files to video files to burn them to DVD. When i try to convert it advises i need to upgrade, i have paid to upgrate and input the serial number but it still states i need to upgrade in order to convert the files. Can anyone help?

  • Hello Melissa,

it can be, that the files have an ARM narrow band audio track, which can cause problems.

If you want to watch those files on a normal stand alone dvd player, you need to author a DVD-Video disc at first.

You can achieve that with Nero Video. Just open Nero Video and go to the "Create & Export" tab and choose DVD -> DVD-Video.

In the opening window just drag & drop your files to the video list on the right. Now click on "Next" and the menu editing will show up. If you want, you can now choose and edit your preferred menu (if not, choose the "No menues" option under "Menues to use"). Press the "Next" button and the Preview screen of your project comes up. Guess what: Click on "Next"! ;) Now the burn options screen will appear. Make your choices there (name of the disc, target drive etc.) and click on the "Burn" button.

Your videos should now be converted to a DVD-Video that's playable on any dvd player.

  • Hi,

Thanks for the response. I followed the instructions and managed to get the files onto DVD, however, the videos that were recorded on my blackberry have no sound. Is there a way to overcome this?

    Thanks

  • Well. There can be some problem with the audio codec, that is used in your video file. At least in those ones from your old blackberry.

Could you please download the free tool MediaInfo from here? Then install it. After that right-click on the 3gpp video file and choose the MediaInfo entry from the list. Now you should choose the tree view. Look under "Audio" what codec is used there and post it here.

The MOV files from your iPhone normally shouldn't lead to audio problems because they use the LC-AAC audio codec.

At last: Do you use the Nero 12 standard or platinum version?
