CoverDesginer Paper Stocks Canon Printers

In CoverDesginer, open File Paper Stocks. For the Canon IP3000 CD Printer, the width / Height is given as 131 mm / 238.7 and seems to be for the CD-R Tray.

Position X / Y coordinates are X = 6.5 mm and Y = 87 mm

I need to know were these coordinates are measures from, and the diagram below is what I think it is.

Is this correct?

  • I think those are relative to the middle of the page.

  • Bill,

I'm going to guess that 'X' is from the left edge as shown, but 'Y' is from the top of the page. For example, compare the dimensions shown on 2 disc layouts such as:

  • Thank you and you are correct. I forgot about it and stumbled upon the old question mark trick. If you drag the question mark to Position (X/Y):, it will display this:

I do not own that Canon IP3000 CD Printer and was only using it as an example. I actually have the Canon PIXMA Pro-10 Printer. This printer is not listed in Paper Stocks of CoverDesigner 12 that I have. I may have to build a User-defined Stock. The Pro-10 uses a plastic CD-R Tray. It is Disc Tray Type K and measures 5.95 x 12.60 inches (15.12 x 32.0 cm). You put in printable CD-R or DVD-R discs into the tray.

Is the Canon PIXMA Pro-10 listed in your version?

  • Bill,

I can't really help with your issue but I can say that the template you need is not in my version:

Maybe Nero Tech Support or Canon can help?

  • I tried to edit the image in my first post but could not. Here is how the Paper Stocks coordinates are correctly measured:

    To Omega Tester:

You did help. Fantastic. The Canon CD Printer Tray K is listed:

I will now download Version 20 and see how it goes.

  • Thanks very much for that.

Just for the record, here is a photo of the Tray K I use:

I will build a User-defined Stock on those measurements. They are a bit strange. The height of yours is 290 mm whereas my tray is 320 mm The arrows seem back-to-front or the disc image on yours is placed incorrectly. I assume the arrow is the feed direction. I'll calibrate the printer via CoverDesginer, and do a test run.
    • UPDATE:

This worked perfectly first go. I entered in those parameters you uploaded and they are exact. To see the results, I entered in the exact width / height dimensions of the Tray K. But it was out by 15 mm in the Y coordinates. I guess the Nero software engineers had calibrated to their specs by trial and error.

They other gotcha is that you have to open Print Setup, Name (the printer used) Properties..., Media Type, Other Papers, Printable disc (recommended), Printer Paper Size, Disc Tray K.

Do not use the Application options to print a calibration sheet for Disc Trays. It is not designed for trays and will stuff it up.
