Cut and Joint without encoding to avoid picture degradation.
I want to cut and joint sections of same video without encoding. I am having trouble with degradation of picture quality when encoding. So just cut joint from key frames and save. No encoding. How do I do this? If not, what software can do this simple task that I can buy. I heard a QuickTime plugin can.

Hi Craig-
Which version of Nero are you using?
I'll assume you're using Make Advanced Movie in Nero Video.
With your video on the timeline, click on the scissors on the right hand side of the screen.
Hover the scissors over the video on the timeline and click at the point you want to make the first cut. Move the scissors and click at the point you want to make the end cut.
Click on the Selection Tool (white arrow) on the right hand side of the screen.
Right click anywhere in the video between the two cut points. Select Remove and Close Gap.
You're done.
In regards to degradation of picture quality, what is the resolution of the video you're using? What type of disc project do you want to burn, e.g., DVD-Video, Blu-ray disc, etc.? -

To cut and join from the same video without encoding, Joyoshare Video Cutter is a worth-trying option. It offers lossless high-speed mode to cut, trim and merge segments without degrading original quality. Easy and practical!
