I have Nero Classic 2015. I create files with a Hauppague PVR2 from my st top box. I then burn them to blu ray or DVD. They are captured in MPEG2. I have never had a problem. Lately everything is going out of sync. It is fine for the first 30 to 60 minutes and then slowly gets worse. I find it hard to believe that every file has a frame missing issue but I don't know what to do. Can some one give me suggestions? I am somewhat new to this so if you can keep it easy I would appreciate it.
Thanks

Hi Don-
Try recoding one of your files to mpeg-4 in Recode before burning it. For testing purposes, burn to your hard drive. Since you have Classic, you don't have the blu-ray player so, burn as DVD-Video. Drag and drop the resulting video_ts folder onto Nero MediaHome to check it. -

If I use Nero Video Recode, does it automatically recode in MPEG-4? If not, how do I do it?

I had started a file in Video Recode before I got your email. It finished and, according to the properties, it is in MPEG but I don't know which number, 2 or 4. It doesn't say anywhere. When the recode is done you can play it in Nero Media Home. Some is still out of sync. It goes back and forth from good to out of synch. The original file is fine. Any other suggestions as to what I can do?
I do appreciate your help.

Thanks for the input. -

The recode I already did is MPEG2. What is the difference between 2and 4?

I don't think it's important whether you recoded to mpeg-4 or mpeg-2. I just wanted to see if Recode would be able to remedy any dropped frames. It seems that it helped somewhat. Sometimes, tsmuxer does a better job.
These sync problems have been an issue in various versions of Nero. Dropped frames isn't always the culprit.
What bothers me is that you didn't have a problem until just recently with the captured video. Makes me wonder what changed. If you have Windows Movie Maker and you create a project there, do you get the same problem.
You may need to send an e-mail to techsupport@nero.com. They'll probably want to get copies of your files. -
