exporting 4k video in nero Platinum 2019
When exporting 4k video I use the only option available which is AVC Ultra HD (4k). It seems there is no option under configure to keep audio in pcm as is possible in other formats. Does the AVC Ultra HD maintain the quality of the video and audio of the original?

Hi, a video re-encoding will always reduce the picture/audio quality a bit, however if you set the bitrate to a similar level like in the source file the difference should be hardly visible/audible.

So is there no way to export in the same quality as the original? Why is it possible to retain pcm audio in export for other formats but not in 4K?

forgot to ask which audio setting should I use for export in 4k to get as close to the orginal pcm? There are only two choices Lc-ACC or HE -ACC

What is the best format to export a 4K video to YouTube and still maintain orignal video and audio quality?

why is He aac better than Lc aac?

Lila,
It isn't? I'm no expert, but from what I read, HE encoding uses techniques that result in a higher compression of the audio, resulting in less streaming bandwidth requirements but not necessarily better quality than the LC encoding.
Buried at https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php/topi..., you can read this:
"With that premise, HE-AAC is an extension of LC-AAC which roughly requires half the bitrate. So 64kbps HE-AAC (v1) would roughly be similar to 128kbps LC-AAC, and 48kbps HE-AAC (v1) would roughly be silimar to LC-AAC 96kbps which is roughly similar to 128kbps MP3. This doesn't agree with listening test results at all. Normally, 48kbps HE-AAC will not hold a candle to 96kbps LC. IgorC's claims (48kbps HE ~ 64kbps LC ~ 96kbps MP3) are much more realistic."
YouTube recommends LC encoding:

I created a short video using the "Action-1" audio in Nero 2019 Video for each mode and uploaded them to YouTube. I'm basically tone-deaf, so I won't render an opinion. But, I see what appears to be a cello, so ...

Note that when I downloaded the videos from YouTube, both had AAC-LC audio. -
