I can't find the specs for your notebook.
Why do you need to change the screen resolution? What is the native resolution of your system.
On a system with Win 7 or earlier, you would right click on the desktop and select Personalize. Then slect Display and change the resoltuion and bit depth. I don't know how to do that in Win 8 unless you can go to Control Panel and find Personalize. -

i posted my first message because when I went to use my NERO 12 VIDEO I encountered a pop-up that dictated I change the resolution and the color depth......when I go to Control Panel and move to 'Personalization', it shows that my DISPLAY is a MOBILE 1 DISPLAY......it features an up and down 'bar'(?) that changes the RESOLUTION from a HIGH of 1366x768 and a LOW of 1024x768....nothing seems available to change it to 800x600, and nothing to change the COLOR DEPTH to 16 PIXELS....i had sent an email to Nero and they responded by asking me for SCREEN SHOTS AND OTHER TECHNICAL TERMS, I am a 63 yr. old, disabled amateur pc user who's just trying to use the software he had purchased and then had to uninstall/re-install, and now that feature (NERO VIDEO) won't function properly....The NERO EXPRESS allows me the luxury of 'burning' DATA DISCS and MUSIC CDS, but I cannot make a simple DVD..I need to change the RESOLUTION to 800x600 and the COLOR DEPTH to 16 PIXELS......SO CAN ANYBODY PLEASE HELP ME WITH MY DILEMNA ?

Please note that I (I'm 70 and an amateur) and the other volunteers are about the only people in the forum who will help you. The Nero employee participation here is spotty. As a result, you can either let us try to help you or you can gather the information that tech support asked for and let them fix the problem.
I suspect that tech support asked for the information because, to my knowledge, there's no requirement to run v12 in that screen resolution. I have it running in 1920x... on both my systems. This is what I can change to on this Vista system (I think it varies with Win 7 and Win 8)-
In regards to the capabilities of v12, is this a free version (Essentials) or did you purchase v12 or v12 Platinum? -

On my Win 7 work station, I go to Control Panel, Display, Change Resolution to get the equivalent of the above. It has a native resolution of 1920x... but it will let me set the resolution to 800x.... I forgot to look for the color depth but I think that's also under Display.

BigPolishDog,
I have Nero 12 Platinum and Nero 2014 Platinum installed on this laptop with my screen resolution at the maximum:
In addition, I don't think the color depth can be changed. So, it's techsupport@nero.com for this difficulty it seems.- view 7 more comments

I (and probably no one else) have no idea what you're talking about and It doesn't seem to be related to Nero.
