Has Nero abandoned their customers?

I used Nero 9 successfully on my Windows XP computer. Having upgraded to Windows 7, I cannot get Nero 9 (which was moved to another drive) to open. Thought about upgrading to current version but in view of the many customer complaints about Nero in Nero's own forum, as well as on Amazon and other consumer review sites, I'm not inclined to buy anything from them again. It sounds as though they a) lie and b) don't care. Someone convince me otherwise.
