Hi Darren-
Which version of Nero are you using? Is it up to date as determined by running the check for updates from the Nero ControlCenter?
What do you mean by "recovered?" -
-
-
-
Where did you save the recovered files? Can't you access that location?
Were any of them marked in yellow or red after the scan was completed? -
-
Yes I can access it it says it's mp, 4 but it says can't open it I would say it's corrupted but not sure of a program to fix corrupted files, I had a computer place do it for some backup files from an old nero nsi file I think.. and yes

You didn't answer my question. The files marked in yellow would be partial recoveries and the ones marked in red, are unlikely to be recoverable.
If the mp4 you recovered wasn't marked in either of those, you could try importing it into Recode and then recoding it to mp4 again. If you have the free VLC Player, you could try importing it and then converting it. If you want, you could upload the file to a cloud service such as WeTransfer, Dropbox, etc. and then share it, create a link, and post the link here for us to mess with it.- view 5 more comments

Were you able to load it in that software?
Download MediaInfo from here-
https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo/Do...
Attempt to open your video in it. If you can, select View, then, Tree. Provide a screenshot which shows the video and audio properties. -

I have a feeling that the file is corrupted. Never seen one where the kind of stream is "general."
After the General section in the Tree, there is the detailed Video and Audio properties. Would you provide a screenshot of those? To do that, go to Accessories and select the Snipping Tool. You can click on the top right corner of the area you want to see and then drag the cursor to the bottom right of what you want to see. Then select File\Save As and save it as a .jpg. Easier than taking a photo of your screen and I can read it easier. -

Thanks for the screenshots. Troubling thing is, I don't see anything that would indicate a problem with the video. If the video was copy protected, that might explain the problem with opening it. I don't think that MediaInfo would show that. Where did you get the video?

It's just a home video, I accidentally deleted it then tried to recover it
-
-
Checked permissions to and had to change that aparrently the system was denied access but still didn't help
-

Since you can't work with it in VLC Player, I found this which you can use to attempt to fix the file-
https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=...
Strange thing is he has a person download the same codec package as in VLC Player.
Might give it a try.- view 1 more comment

Got everything prepared but the two links to software don't work

Darren,
If you want to try the method, see http://slydiman.me/eng/mmedia/recover.... If it works to your satisfaction, you can pay to download the result, or see https://www.videohelp.com/software/re... to download the program and proceed as in the YouTube video. -

I tried to use the two links provided and got the good old 404. Doesn't matter since, as I said, I'm not going to do anything with it.

Wither 1,
Which two links? The links from YouTube or the links I just provided for you? -

How did it turn out?

Try using Uneraser for deleted photo recovery - I managed to restore everything I had accidentally deleted including the oldest photos I had. The interface is quite user-friendly, so you shouldn't have any trouble with that.
