  • Hi Raiski-

    What is the specific problem?

Open Nero MediaHome and click on Options, Streaming. Is the box checkmarked to enable the Nero MediaHome Server? In the Device Access Control, is your TV shown as active (not greyed out)?

Are you enabling SmartShare on your TV before you try to stream?

  • Hi

    Nero MediaHome Server is enabled.
    TV is marked as active.

    SmartShare is enabled on TV.

Question is, how can I stream PC desktop (specially "ruutu.fi" paid video content from browser) to TV?
As I said, local pictures and videos are shown ok when I push "Play"-button.

When Streaming is enabled from Nero MediaHome Server, should whole screen been broadcasted to TV? I am familiar with ChromeCast, Miracast and AirPlay, but not Nero products and mediaserver.

  • When I asked about the TV in the Device Access Control, I wanted to know if the name of the TV is not greyed out when connected via wi-fi. If you've used it before, there will be a checkmard regardless of whether or not it's greyed out. Is it greyed out?

Nero MediaHome Server only streams files that are in the Nero MediaHome Library. If you have downloaded files from ruutu.fi, then you should manually add the folders containing those files to the Library. Then, when you select the Nero MediaHome Server from your TV, you should see all folders and files in the Library.

To my knowledge, Nero MediaHome does not stream from the internet.

  • Ok, thank you.

Nero was purchased to stream content to TV because Windows 7 Desktop PC was not able to use Intel WiDi. Obviously this main purpose why Nero was bought is not working at all :-(

Owner of DLNA TV can use mobile device to stream content from livestream site.

Technology is leaping forward so quickly ordinary people are quite confused. Maybe some day this TV software is updated to include native "ruutu.fi"-client. Web content is not shown in TV internet browser because site uses flash...

But the user of Nero suite is still able to use any other fine features of Nero :-)

  • Nero does stream to your TV but only for content in the Library, which you can add as desired. I have a LG TV, as you do.

I'm don't know what you mean by the the tv won't play web content shown in the TV internet browser because it uses flash (player). Don't websites like netflix, hulu, youtube, etc. use the flash player?
