How do I force all clips back to original resolution

I nearly completed my HUGE video project and I inadvertently changed the movie format to DVD and now all the clips are at a crappy resolution. The ORIGINAL clips in the Video tab are at full resolution (when I preview any of them in Nero they look great) but the clips actually in the timeline are lower. Even after going to Options and changing the Movie format back to Full HD I don't get the clips in the timeline back to full res. Please tell me I don't have to re-accomplish the entire project.

  • Hi Robert-

Which version of Nero are you using?

If you have v2015 or later, you can click on Disc Format at the bottom right of any screen and change the project type to whatever you desire.

If you saved your project and are using an earlier version of Nero, you could select the type of project you want at the opening screen and then import your project. I'm sure if this would work but it's worth a try.

  • I have 2016. I did as you suggested and that brought it back, but I guess there's just no way to have the program produce a DVD without making it INCREDIBLY pixelated. Our camera shoots full HD, and I'd hoped that I could break up the project to produce three DVDs, but the resolution is always stepped down to a horrible level just to have it make a DVD. I guess I have no choice but to buy a Blueray burner for my computer.

  • DVD-Video is 720x... If you want to make a AVCHD-DVD, you can do that using your standard drive but the disc needs to be played back in a blu-ray player.

I don't have much time right now to address the pixelation. Honestly, it shouldn't be because you have high resolution media and it should not degrade going to DVD-Video resolution.

Have you tried selecting 2-pass in the recording format options?

Don't burn to disc to test. Burn to your hard drive and then drag and drop the resulting video_ts folder onto Nero MediaHome.

Let's talk some more about this later.
