in Nero Vision - What do I need to do to Rotate captured video 90

I think the version I'm using is from 2010 but can't be sure.
Videos on the net do not seem to apply to my version.
Is there a way to do this for me or do I need a different program?

  • If you're working in Make Movie or Slide Show, drag and drop the video on the timeline. Open the Effect Palette. When the red positioning line is over the video, the properties will show up on the right hand side. The Rotation option is there for you to rotate the video.

When you open Nero Vision, click on the ? mark at the bottom of the screen. Select About................ What is the version shown.

  • Thanks for your reply.
    The version is 4.9.6.6 2007

I don't appear to have a red positioning line but a blue one. I've moved this onto the video in Timeline. Under the Effects (this is the menu identified by a lightning bolt) there is no rotation function though. Not one I can identify anyway.

Is my version not the appropriate one for this function?

  • You're using v7 and the method I asked you to do isn't available until v10. I don't know if you have the latest version. What you can do is open Burning Rom and select Cancel. Click on Help, About......... It should show you the version number and I have a better handle on that one.

To the best of my knowledge, you can't rotate a video in Make Movie.

However, you can import a video into Make Slide Show and rotate it by right clicking on it and selecting either rotate right or rotate left. The most significant difference between Make Movie and Make Slide Show is that Make Movie has more editing options except for this one.

If you want to use the editing options in Make Movie, I suggest rotating your movie in Make Slide Show and then exporting the project to file using the Export function. You can then import that video into Make Movie.

  • ooo-kay!

Tried the first bit of advice but it wouldn't allow me to select a video file in the make slide show mode.
Shame, as I really just want to select all my video clips and string them together to make a DVD of them. Not interested in any other functionality. Can I do this with Burning ROM?

I opened Burning ROM and that version is 7.9.6.0

  • You don't have the last update but nothing in it which affects what you're doing.

Are you using a purchased version or is this an OEM version?

What happens when you try to import a video? Although the manual is not specific about it, it does allude to a "video title" in the menu editing screen.

You can certainly string a bunch of video clips together in Nero Vision and burn them but the issue is rotation.

If you want a disc that plays in a standalone player, you need to use Nero Vision unless your player will play a data disc. The latter is what you will get if you burn video files in Burning Rom.

  • Hi. Importing the video goes fine. But like you say rotation is the issue.
OK I think what you're ultimately telling me is that I don't have the correct version.

Is it possible to 'update' my version or do I have to buy a new suite? Thanks for your attempts to assist though.

  • Above, you said that it wouldn't let you select a video. Now you're saying that importing the video goes fine. I assume you added it to the storyboard. If that's not the case, please explain. If you can add it to the storyboard, then you can rotate it as I described above.

As mentioned, the last update doesn't do anything in regards to your problem. However, you can download the last version here-

    http://www.nero.com/enu/downloads/pre...

Try installing it over top of your existing installation. If it doesn't work, then you can uninstall your existing version using the Nero General Clean tool (don't use Control Panel).
