Jump back to Menu

2017 Video. I have set up menus to select and view scenes (chapters). The chapters are not returning to menu when finished. Jump to Menu is selected

  • tottie,

The three "End Action" options all refer to titles, not chapters. Chapters operate like "Scenes" of commercial DVDs - a convenient way to jump ahead or back.

  • Thanks, Omega Tester.
I had enquired online at one point asking the difference between chapters and titles but no good answer!
The next question is... how do I make chapters into titles
    Here's what I'm working on
The Opening menu gives a choice of "Play Video" or "Choose a Scene" If they choose a scene then when that scene is finished, I want to return to the menu.

  • A chapter is just a marker in a title or between titles which allows you to jump forwards or backward using your remote during playback. It can't be used for what you're describing. A title is either a single video in a project or the whole project if you have multiple videos in your project and they are joined. If you use Make Advanced Movie in Nero Video and add more than one video to the timeline, they are automatically joined. If you start out by selecting a disc project such as DVD, DVD-Video, the videos won't be automatically joined so each will be a single title and will show up as individual buttons in your menu. You can then use the Jump to Menu.

    tottie,

I guess you would have to have your original title and then create an individual title for each chapter in the Nero Video editor by cutting at the chapter divisions. In Express mode, cuts can be made as follows:

For exact divisions, write down the times of each chapter and then position the cursor by typing the time as shown in the YouTube video. The video uses Nero 2017 with its Multiple Export capability. For previous versions, the segments would have to be individually exported.

After creating the titles, open the original project, add the additional "titles" on the Content screen. Then, at the Menu Edit screen, you will need to use the Advanced Editing feature to design the menus.

Note that using this technique will require twice as much space and may be impractical.

Many thanks to Omega Tester and Wither 1....what a pair of gurus!!!
Some time ago I was surfing on the forum, searching for a solution to my problem, and found something similar posted by an 87-year-old gent 4 years ago You guys helped him out at that time and here you are 4 years later helping me, an 81-year-old. Same two guys, and great advice,
Want to you let you know that thanks to your advice, I have solved all my problems and have the videos behaving the way I want them to. I have also, thanks to you two guys, learned a hell of a lot about Nero and have yelled the "YES" word when, suddenly, all the things I've been trying to do work out.
    THANKS AGAIN GUYS
