Lack of memory for processing ?

I have been using Nerovision to process video taken on my JVC video camera for many years. I find now that I am unable to process my projects. By breaking the projects into 30 second snatches I have been able to work around issues, but now I find I have a new error : OMP: Error #136: Cannot create thread. OMP; System error #8: Not enough storage is available to process this command. Any help you can offer on how to fix this problem would be appreciated.

  • Hello Kit-

I don't know what issues you were facing that you needed a work around but you didn't ask for help with that.

What exactly are you doing when you get that message? Be very detailed.

  • I am working with a video project in Nero Media Suite 10, Nerovision in Windows 7. This contains short (3-10 second) .mts video files and several .jpg files with pan/zoom effects. I generally apply a crossfade transition between each file. When I try to export to AVCHD file I find that the process freezes, (grinds to a halt) if the total duration is more than about one minute. So my work around is to break the project into shorter lengths, then joining the resultant .m2ts files in a new project. Until recently this has enabled me to work on projects up to an hour long. Nero has seemed to cope with the longer duration files, but baulks at the transitions.

I am now finding I get the OMP errors even joining 2 one minute .m2ts files together.

The computer has 16gb RAM and 150Gb free hard disk space.

I run no other software when I am doing this.

Hope this helps you identify what's going wrong. Thanks for your interest. Kit

  • Open Burning Rom and click on Cancel. Click on Help, About.............. What is the version number.

I know you have 150 GB of free space but ask that you try something. Go to Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools. Find the Disc Cleanup tool and run it. When it says how much free space it can regain, check the boxes for Temporary files and Recycle bin. Let it run. Reboot. If you have a SSD, you should run the Trim function. To my knowledge, it doesn't run automatically in Win 7. Try working with the files in Nero Vision.
