Mass-crossfade multiple video tracks

Hi
I find it really frustrating that I can't mass-fade a stack of video tracks to my background with just one operation.
"Dip to color" on the uppermost track works but it fades to black, not the background, so you have to cross fade all three/four/more tracks individually.
I thought we'd gone digital so we could do stuff like that!
Any thoughts?

  • Hi Bob-

I'm in a hurry right now but if you want the avoid the black, position the video on track 2 so that it slightly overlaps the video on track 1 where you have added the transition.

Not sure about the setup in regards to "three/four......tracks." Perhaps a screenshot would help.

  • Hi Wither

This is on the back seat for a while, since the old problem is recurring - Nero wiping my edited work when reopening and just showing me a blank timeline.

Last time Nero eventually sent me a 'first aid kit', which worked.

I found it in my downloads and was thinking of running it again, but the first thing it said when I clicked on it was "This blah will remove all Nero products from your system"

    Seriously? That's a solution??!!

So it looks like it's back to Nero (un)support, unless you can help.

    Thanks for your attention.

    Bob

  • I think the FirstAidKit changes registry entries for the older versions that are on your system. Nothing to lose by trying it since you can always reinstall v2017, even though I don't think it will do anything to help since you've already run it before.

Sounds like a trip to tech support is in order. I don't know if you should post what they have to say here or in your other thread on this problem.

  • Bob,

It seems you've got bigger problems at the moment, but I just wanted to comment on the Dip to Color transition. Unfortunately, that effect doesn't include "Dip to Transparent".

So, if I understand what you are trying to do, you could use the Opacity settings with keyframes as shown in the following YouTube video:

I wasn't actually paying enough attention when I set the keyframe location and made the transition zone rather narrow, but I think the idea is clear?
