MediaHome server navigation

I put all my video files in my computer's files in Windows folders.
I then set MediaHome Free to monitor these folders.

Now, I play these videos on my TV through an LG Blu-Ray player, which accesses the MediaHome server.

Tor reach the "monitored" files/video on the Blu-Ray, I have to navigate several levels/branches before reaching the "monitored" files/videos.

Is it possible to configure Nero MediaHome FREE so that when accessing the media server from an LG Blu-Ray player will only display the "monitored" directories/files?

  • It sounds like you used the "add automatically" feature in the Library. If you manually add only the folders containing your media to the Library, do you get this problem?

In the back of my mind, it seems this issue came up before.

  • I set "streaming" to share Photos & Videos.
My Library is set "manually" to watch one folder (Slide Shows).

Here is what I see on my LG Blu-Ray player menu:

    Videos
    - timeline
    - marked
    - rated
    - recently added
    - recently played
    - smart album
    - album
    - folder
    Photos
    - faces
    - marked
    - rated
    - recently added
    - recently modified
    - smart album
    - album
    - person groups
    - folder

What I would like to see:
    Videos:
    - Slide Shows

    Is this possible?

  • If the only folder you have in the Nero MediaHome Library (click on Options) is a single folder, then it seems all you would have to do is select either Videos, folder or Videos, Timeline.

  • Thanks Wither.

I think you misunderstand my question.

I don't have a problem getting to my files. I am just trying to find a shorter way to get to them.

I have an old version of MediaHome 4, which came bundled with my LG Blu-Ray. I get to my files without having to navigate through so many layers.

All I am asking: Is it possible to configure MediaHome Free to do the same?

  • I understood what the problem is but you're dealing with a different interface than that which was available with NMH 4. It seems this question has come up before but I didn't search this forum or the old forum. The obvious, solution is to move the folder nearer the top of the path.

As I mentioned, if you have the folder in the Nero MediaHome Library, the slide shows, which are videos, should be on the Timeline and you shouldn't have to browse through any path to see and select them when you select Videos, Timeline.

I don't know if, when you share photos and videos, NMH is restricting itself to its Library or searching the whole system.
