Mixed mode CD-R, CD-TEXT, ISRC and manual gapping ?

Can Nero Burning ROM 2014 create a mixed mode cd (audio and data) which is playable on both mac and pc, with ISRC codes for audio, CD-TEXT and manual track gapping for the audio tracks ? I use Plextor PX716SA, thanks for responses.

Burning Rom has the CD mixed mode option which also allows CD-Text and the option to include (default) or not include pauses between tracks.

I can't say for sure how the ISRC codes are handled. If they're imbedded in the track they should be readable.

Since Nero is only compatible with Windows, I wouldn't think that a MAC could read the CDA on the disc unless you had a hybrid MAC OS. I could be entirely wrong.

If someone else doesn't chime in, send an e-mail to tech support at techsupport@nero.com. Let us know what they have to say.

  • Thanks for response, so it is fixed gap or no gap only. (not manually adjustable per track?)

ISRC codes must be encoded in a specific field (not the audio file) when disk is authored this much I know.

If you burn a disk from a broadcast .wav with ISRC present in the "DESCRIPTION" field it is not seen by disk burning software (to my knowledge of many cd mastering burning softwares). So to include ISRC it requires the field to be present at lazer authoring time.

I have had confirmation that Enhanced CD is supported but have only just asked about ISRC and CD-Text inclusion.

I am fairly positive that mac would be able to see the .cda per track in the table of contents in much the same way as a PC would.

  • To my knowledge, there's no option to change the duration of the pauses in a mixed mode CD. However, you can change it when creating a CD Extras disc. The latter also allows for inserting ISCR codes. The only difference between the mixed mode CD and the CD Extras is that you have to burn two sessions for the latter- one for the audio files and one for the data files.
