Hi,
I'd like to burn a blu-ray with a video, which I've created with Premiere Pro.
The MP4 file has a size of 18GB and a length of 1:30:02.
When I import the file into Nero Video, the application tells me the file is too large and the Blu ray would need 27GB. So, I've rendered in Adobe Media Encoder a smaller version of the Video taking a smaller Bit rate. The file ended up with 6GB in size, but Nero Video still tells me the file is too big for Blu Ray. I've recorded a screencast highlighting the issue in detail.
What else can I do?

Hello Juergen-
Which version of Nero are you using? Is it completely up to date as determined by running the check for updates in the Nero ControlCenter?
It appears you don't have the content packs installed. When you launch Nero, click on Nero Content. You should be able to download the pack (s) and install them. -

@Omega Tester, as far as I can see it the "Recording format options" are for recordings. My Video is already an exported file. Even if I decode it with a lower bit rate, it will be shown as 27GB, as Dave Hook said.

Yeah, it's nothing to do with bitrates Mr Tester this has come up loads of times, When you put a file into Nero it reads the original data for that file you can handbrake it and compress it all you like it makes no difference it still reads the original data. I bet the original file before he made it an MP4 was 27 g hence the reason it is too large if you put a DVD into Nero and it comes out at 4.2 g then compress it with Handbrake to say 2 g then put that file into Nero it will still say 4.2 g because it still reads the original data before it is compressed.

Juergen,
The Recording Format parameters apply to the Blu-ray output from Nero. You are importing 1 1/2 hours worth of video probably at 1920x1080 resolution compressed (and maybe compressed further). The imported compressed file is decoded to create output frames; those frames are encoded for the Blu-ray using the parameters I've shown above. Have you tried it? -

Jeurgen didn't answer my questions, but he should be able to fit it to disc using a different quality setting such as HDTV Full HD. Given the relatively small difference between the disc capacity and the reported output size, it shouldn't significantly change the quality of his video.

Hi folks,
thanks again for all the comments.
I'm using 22.5 as the version and the software tells me I'm using the latest (as it'S a fresh install).
I've checked the "Recording Format Options" and set it to "Fit to Disc". It works! However, the final disc now uses only 19GB and the quality is pretty rough compared to my 18GB Video it's converting from. Not really ideal, but at least a workaround. I'm asking Nero for a Refund and I'll try a different software as the options for recoding are pretty ugly, as no one really knows what "fit to disc" is supposed to meant in terms of quality.
Again, thank you all for your help!! I really appreciate it!- view 1 more comment

Good point!
I was using the "huge" version of the project. Maybe I should build an even bigger version and run through a re-encoding by Nero again. -

Juergen,
In the topic description, you said, " I've rendered in Adobe Media Encoder a smaller version of the Video taking a smaller Bit rate. The file ended up with 6GB in size, but Nero Video still tells me the file is too big for Blu Ray.". I was simply questioning whether you imported the 6 GB file or the original 18 GB file. I'm not sure what your last comment meant. -

The fit to disc may have gone too far. What happens if you select HDTV Full HD?
What is the resolution of your original file. -
