Nero 12 Platinum Activation Problem.

In the Past week I have had to reload all of my programs a number of times, including Nero 12 Platinum, due to problems with my computer which now seem to be fixed.
Each Time I loaded Nero I selected the reinstall, and also registered with my name & email address. I also downloaded any updates that were available.

Now when I go to use the Nero Video it allows me import ONLY SOME of my video clips without problems. Yet when I attempt to import others a window opens "connecting to Nero web server". Then another window opens saying that the maximum amount of duplicate activations has been exceeded. ( see photo). I click on the Technical support link and it takes me to Nero support and I cant find anything that relates to my problem or activation. I did send a message to Nero but have not received a reply.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Windows 8 operating system.

  • Hi Daz,
    One thing to check is that your serial number is showing correctly in Nero ControlCenter.

    That message seems pretty sure that you have exceeded the number of re-installs (limit is 5 - even on the same computer) so, you did the right thing to contact Nero.

    You can email techsupport@nero.com or patent.activation@nero.com with all the details. They may be able to reset your serial number.

    Bear in mind that it could take a few business days before they respond.

    I have sent the details again to the patent activation link you provided.
    The serial number in the control centre is correct.
    This only seemed to happen after I installed the updates.
    Will wait to see if Nero gets back to me.

  • UPDATE:
    Today I uninstalled my Nero 12 Platinum and done a reinstall WITHOUT any updates.
    Nero Video now allows me to import all videos without problems or messages saying that I have exceeded activations (as shown in my original post).

    I still have not received a reply from Nero and concerned that if I applied the updates then I may encounter the problem again.

    Does anyone have any suggestions as to why the updates caused the problems.
    I was hoping to be able to use the Blu-Ray player but cannot do so because I require the updates to enable this.

  • Update: After a number of emails to Nero and having my activation reset all seems to be ok.

    I usually only use Nero Video to Mpeg2. and found that it would not allow me to Export any other file types, (eg MP4). Recode would also not work.

    I have not completed any updates at the moment and are somewhat hesitant to do so. I am also hesitant, at this stage, about upgrading to 2015.

    Nero disabled my product and now I have to spend money on a competitors product.

    I have been ignored in reactivating my serial number as well. The product is useless now and my investment lost. I had to rebuild my computer and reinstalled. In the past I have done this or wiped and installed software due to viruses. They have responded within a few days. Now SILENCE. I own Nero 6,9, and 12. I can't believe they don't even respond. That is angering to me and I dislike wasting my time repeatedly contacting and waiting, and writing this. I'm done Nero!!!

    Why should I upgrade if Nero will just disable the product in the future? I'm going to a competitor now but I will be posting to every board I can find on Nero about this problem.
