Nero 12 Platinum Blu Ray player won't play the movie Revenant?
Hello - I rented Revenant from Red box and when I tried to play it with Nero Blu Ray player a message on the screen said my blu Ray player needed an update in order to play this disk. I used control center to check for updates and I had the latest version. I would appreciate any assistance. Than you

is it possible that the message is telling you that you need an update to the firmware of your disc drive?

Hi,
I checked and have the latest firmware for the drive. I was wondering if this could be an issue with Nero Blu Ray player getting the latest decryption keys? Is the software suppose to obtain them for the newest releases?-
Rick,
I don't know exactly what is causing your problem, but you may want to consider the following:
In topic No bluray player for 2016 platinum?, Since5.5 refers to Sony page , where it says, "Renewing the AACS encryption key
You may have to renew the AACS encryption key to play content such as movies on commercially available BD video software (BD-ROM). If a message indicating that the encryption key needs to be renewed is displayed, update the system software to the latest version. The encryption key will then be automatically renewed.
AACS (Advanced Access Content System) is a copyright-protection technology that is used on Blu-ray movies.
The copyrighted content is protected by setting an encryption key on both the disc and the device used to play the disc.
An AACS encryption key expires in 12 to 18 months and must be renewed. There may also be other times when the key has to be renewed."
Since Nero has no intention of supporting the Blu-ray Player, many users have turned to other players, such as, the free Leawo Blu-ray Player. -
