I have used Nero18 several times and edit for video and add audio effects.
An old video I have fed into the program has only one channel of audio (left side) - Is there anyway, in the Audio Effects or other options? that I can simply have the program duplicate the audio present in Left Channel so it's also in the Right Channel when dvd project is finished? Thank you!

nero 18 dvd editor, audio effects, making 1 channel of audio become L & R mono

Hi Darren,
I don't know of an effect in Nero Video that will do that ... maybe someone else will come up with an idea.
The only thing I can think of is to un-link the audio from the video in advanced editing, then export the audio only.
Open that exported audio file in Nero WaveEditor for example and "save as" out to a mono sound file.
Then, back in Nero Video ... delete the old un-linked audio and then import the converted audio and re-link it with the video?
Perhaps there is a much easier way that an expert will suggest later on ... -

Darren,
I imported a mono mp3 into Nero Video, dragged it to track 1 audio, added a background picture, and exported. The output is exactly as you have described - the single channel is duplicated on left and right. -

Problem is, I think he has a video which was recorded with the left channel only. That's different than a video with mono. Would be nice to have a copy of his file.

Based on darren' last post, I didn't bother with it.

Wither 1,
Just as another user came back with an issue about the "phishing" email from Nero, no doubt one day this issue will rear its head again. You could take this opportunity to learn about the problem and be ready to provide a superior solution? -

thanks everyone for your comments - after further evaluation , the audio on my tape wavers between both channels - I think it was all originally in mono - it's much more predominate in the left channel .. I may try some of the advice posted and see if I can get it normalized - I did think about isolating the audio track and then normalizing it in a separate program but i'm afraid then after importing it back in, I will have it out of sync with the video -- I may just leave it the way it is but thanks to everyone and Happy New Year
