Hi,
I have problem with Export to .mp4. (Recode to .mp4 doesn't work)
After exporting to .mp4 Sound ok but no video.
Export to all other formats is fine.
Clean reinstallation of Nero didn't fix that problem

It sounds like your patents aren't activated. Is your serial number shown correctly in the Nero ControlCenter?
What are the first four characters of your serial number (don't post the whole thing here)?
How many times have you installed? After 5 installs, the patents have to be reactivated.
Have you ever installed it on another computer? -

Hello guys,
I did install NERO on another PC, but it is been replaced for newer one, so I may reinstall Nero several times. My ser. # shows correctly on control center
First 4 digits of ser.# 907C.
I did unchecked Hardware acceleration, but it makes no difference.
Nero 2017 works fine for everything else, just issue with export to .mp4

Send an e-mail, which includes your serial number, to patent.activation@nero.com and request that they reactivate your patents.

I did install Nero in another PC with same ser.# for test
purpose & it is working fine -

After reactivation, you should be good to go.
You can only use a serial number on one computer. If you didn't uninstall Nero from that older computer, the Nero records would show that it still was in use on that computer and you would have the problem that you've encountered. -

Don't mean to drag out the patent activation issue since you said you could work with .m2ts but-
Did they come back and say that you're patents have been reactivated? Just wondered because you said you had reinstalled on another computer and it worked. Did you uninstall it from that computer?
In Recode, what are you choosing when you open it? -

That is correct .m2ts works fine on this PC.
And all functions worked on another PC

"Please add this number in addition to your Nero serial number in the Nero Control Center to activate all limited patents.
Please make sure that the additional serial number and main serial number should be used correspondingly and together"
They sent me additional ser. # which I added to existing one.
I didn't tried recode after reactivation, but export to .mp4
still doesn't work.

If I remember correctly, there was a problem with this in one version which was corrected by an update. Did you install all the updates to your version (I think there's only one). Although it wouldn't make any difference, did you install the Content Packs?
What is the format of the files you're trying to export? What is their source?
If you export the default Flower Meadow to mpeg-4, does it play correctly? -

Yes,I did install Content Packs & update to the latest
Flower Meadow exporting correctly.
My original file is .mp4 I did some editing & trying to export back to .mp4
Also if the same file I export to m2ts and brought back to timeline
expert to .mp4 works fine.
I have another .mpeg2 files from my Sony camcorder
after exporting to .mp4 got distorted video -

Which mpeg-4 profile are you using when you export? Are you changing any of the settings in the configuration?

I was able to export the StAugustinePBS file provided by World Video to mpeg-4 in Nero Video 2015. The exported file plays fine. I was also able to use Recode 2015 to successfully recode it to mpeg-4. As a result, I'm wondering if there isn't a "HD" component which Nero is no longer allowed to process starting with v2016.
I'll give it a try in v2017 later. -

This repacked file exported to .mp4 with the same problem,
have sound no video ( black screen).
I posted previously when I tried to do the same on another PC with
NERO 2017 I had no problem at all, so I don't thing problem related to "HD Component". Something incompatible?
I have problem to export to.mp4 majority of files not only this particularly.

Yes, I did use "First Aid Kit". Problem I have not the end of the world, I can work around, just tried to find out. I guess upgrade to NERO 2020 may not solve that problem, because "Nero Video" still the same since 2014 version if I'm not mistaken.

FYI, I didn't consider it relevant, but I had no problem importing your file and exporting as MPEG-4 from Nero 2019 Video. If you did buy 2020 and continued to have this problem you would at least be eligible for "Nero Technical Support" for what that's worth. I suspect you could get a refund if the issue could not be resolved. -

I just exported it in v2017 and it worked fine. Didn't try recode.
I don't think buying v2020 is going to solve anything.

It's still telling me that I need permission, Maybe try the WeTransfer.
While you're at it, go to Control Panel, Default Programs. In the Associate a file........... section, what is the default for .mp4, .mp4v and .mpeg-4. -

The exported file is less than 2 minutes whereas the original file is almost 6 minutes. I noticed you created a project with the video. Did you do anything to the video before saving the project?
Try this-
In Make Advanced Movie, import the same file you gave us. Export it to file. If it doesn't work, provide the new log file.
I see some things in the original log file that bother me but would rather you try what I suggested first before trying to address them. -

From original video I made editing by cutting some segments.
Also I tried to export many more videos non of these works.
Recode doesn't work for videos at all.

I assume your comments refer to mpeg-4 files only. If that's not the case, please elaborate.
Thanks for the log. Once it loads the file and continues, I don't see any errors. There are a number of errors long before that but I don't think they affect the export process. The only one that is a concern is that it couldn't open the export server but, it opened it anyhow and then again, later.
I don't remember anyone saying that CyberLink interferred with Nero and don't see any evidence it did but, go to the "associate a file..............." in Default Programs. Change the default for the 3 formats I mentioned to Nero MediaHome. Unless Nero MediaHome is an option when you select Change Default, you would go to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Nero\KM\MediaHome.exe.
Then try an export. -

I did change default to NERO Media Home, it make no difference.
When I mention with recode, I tried to ripped DVD to .MP4 and have
no success. I feel sorry you waste so much time to solve this problem.
Maybe the best way to uninstall form this PC & use another one.

Nero hasn't posted the support information for v2017 at their website yet so I think you still might get support by sending an e-mail to feedback@nero.com.
Give it a shot and, if they help you, let me know what the resolution is. -

Hello guys,
Tech support located in China, so it is not easy to communicate with.
Yesterday they did check issue remotely & confirm it is a problem
Unfortunately they couldn't fix it, advice me to use AVC instead,
Recode still useless even DVD can't be ripped.
Let you know if something will be changed -

It is not a problem to Rip DVD's by using NERO, because I have converter software which I can use it. This is just an additional to the problem I have, associate with Export to MP4.

I guess I misunderstood you. You said above that there's a problem if you start with "Import DVD"; so, I suggested copying the VIDEO_TS folder to your hard drive so that Recode wouldn't be reading the DVD while recoding. -
