Nero Express stopped working - how do I reinstall it since someone else put it on for me?

I have a Nero Express program that was installed on my computer by somebody else. It was working fine until today, when I got this message:

"The program can't start because BCGCBPRO860un71.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

How do I reinstall it? If I uninstall the one I have now, I will lose the program for good. I don't even know the serial number! Can anybody *please* help me with this? Thanks.

  • Please run the "Nero ControlCenter" and send the serial number listed there to interview@nero.com. Thx.

    • Dude ... since you are a Nero employee, could you please tell me why Nero has not responded to any of my online email submissions requesting for their technical assistance! I have submitted 5 over the past 18 days.

      Dear Technical Support,

      This is the 5th time I am submitting my request. I have attempted to reach out to your group to request your assistance over the past 16 days, and have yet to receive a response. THIS IS NOT PROFESSIONAL, AND NOR IS IT ACCEPTABLE!

      Having said that, I am still hopeful that you will respond to this email submission.

      I am attempting to install Nero 2019 Platinum, and have been unable to do so. The installation stub program kicks off the installation, and a Windows pop-up displays the progress being made. The installation process goes smoothly without any error message. When the installation is complete, it displays a "Start the application" button. When I click it nothing happens. Also, there is no desktop icon that is created.

      I have attempted to COMPLETELY uninstall your product using your FirstAid, Revo Uninstaller, and IOBit Uninstaller. In addition, I have manually deleted any program folders or registry entries. Then restarted my laptop, and performed a clean install.

      The result remains the same. The installation appears to be completed without an error. However, the desktop SmartStart icon is not created. In addition, when you attempt to run Nero ROM or Nero Express directly nothing happens.

      PLEASE PROVIDE A FIX!

      It's a shame your company doesn't have the decency to list a contact number. I have a strong feeling I know the reason why -- crappy products!!
    • Dear Amit, each of the several support tickets you provided over the last three weeks had a response with one working day and even call attempts to the numbers you provided are logged. So this is not a matter of us beeing unwilling to help but assuimgly a technical communictaion issue. We will try again to reach out to you via phone and email.

    I found the serial number by opening the license key info. Then I sent it to the address you gave me.

    Would you happen to know how long it takes for a response? Thanks again.

  • The serial number on that previous version, I was told, was reported to be pirated.

    So I just now purchased the Nero Burn-ROM 2019. It should now be legitimately in my name and with an authentic serial number, and I know the updated features will be a plus.

    In the meantime, I will apprise my friend - who installed the previous version of Nero Express on my computer four years ago - of what he put on here before I got this new version.

    Looking forward to using this new Nero Burn-Rom 2019!
