I’m frustrated

Nero MediaHome does not show any "My Market Downloads" after reinstall.

NMH version 1.28.4900 - I purchased Nero Kwik Play and Nero Kwik DVD.

I should be able to burn DVD's and play MPEG-4 videos. I can't do either. When I try NMH takes me to a page wanting me to purchase NMH unlimited for $39.95.

I do know how to sign in and check "My Market Downloads".

HELP ANYONE ?

  • Hi D.Green-

Where did you buy the individual plug-ins? These haven't been available by themselves for maybe three months. I'll have to check tomorrow but I don't even think those are the most current plug-ins. You will probably have to purchase the entire plug-in package (which appears to be "unlimited").

In the long run, it's a better deal to buy Nero 2015 Platinum for $54.99 US, unless you don't want any of the other Nero applications.

  • Purchased on 8/2/2013 - at the time I was told these are lifetime purchases. This is back when the product was called Nero KwikMedia.
Purchased online from Nero still have the purchase confirmation emails.

I sent an email to Nero sales. NMH does not qualify for tech support.

This happened before and I think my email got it corrected in the past.

  • Well, KwikMedia used to be MediaHub and now it's MediaHome. Up until a few month ago, you could buy the plug-ins individually but Nero changed that because people were having installation problems. As a result, they changed to requiring a person to purchase the entire plug-in package. Most of the cost is for the blu-ray player. I suspect that's why you're having a problem.

The best i can tell you is to send an e-mail to techsupport@nero.com. Perhaps they'll give you some credit for your purchased apps or maybe the entire plug-in package.

let me know how it turns out. Note that they won't be back to work until Tuesday because of the Easter holidays.

  • Thanks for the email address.

    I found this one online - US-CustomerService@nero.com

    I submitted a support ticket at - http://www.nero.com/ena/support/contact/

About the Blu-Ray player, I would need a "special DVD Writer/Burner" in my computer because my "standard one" does not have the correct laser ?

At least that is what I have been led to believe. Why do I need something I can't use ?

  • If you don't have a blu-ray drive, then the blu-ray player would be of no benefit unless you want to play a BDMV that you downloaded from the internet or created in Nero Video.

  • OK, now we are discussing items I know nothing about. While I have the chance I want to ask a few questions. Please feel free to add anything you think is related.

The best video files I have downloaded are 1080p. Can I use them to format a Blu-Ray with Nero Video ?

Where can I download BDMV files from ?

Because I have a laptop I guess I could purchase an external blu-ray drive.

Do you have a link to Nero Platinum User Guide ?

  • Yes, you can create a BDMV in Nero Video using your videos. When you create a project and select blu-ray disc for the project, then you can burn it to your hard drive as a BDMV. If you had a blu-ray drive, you could burn it to that. If all you have is a DVD drive, then you could create a DVD-Video. Due to the DVD-Video specs, your 1080p would be converted to 720x... in the process.

In order for a blu-ray video to play, it has to be in either the BDAV or BDMV structure. Note that the "M" in BDMV just means the video has a menu. A BDAV wouldn't have a menu. That's why any blu-rays you download from the internet would be in one of those structures.

All the user manuals for v2015 are at nero.com, support, Nero 2015, manuals. There are also some tutorials there.

  • That's easy, I already have a HDMI cable running from my computer to my HDTV.

An external blu ray player / burner costs $39 on Ebay.

I own a Sony blu ray player.

My concern is if I do not create the blu ray videos, I will not find anywhere to download them from.

  • Oh yeah, I sent an email to the address you posted, and the one I found online.

That makes 3 different communications sent.

    Someone "me too"d my post.

  • Nero won't be back to work until tomorrow and I don't have any idea when they will get to your problem.

Until you get your plug-in problem squared away, I don't know if you'll be able to stream to your TV from Nero MediaHome. You can try it at any time since all you need is any video.

Practically all the blu-ray videos on the internet will require a purchase. You can get them with subcription at all the big houses like netflix, hulu, etc.

  • Looks like Nero's ANSWER is to stop replying to my emails. With this kind of customer support I am looking at other options.

Like these - WinX DVD Author Freeware or DVD Flick Freeware.

  • Hi D.Green,
we cannot find an e-mail in our system from the e-mail address that you have used to register in the forum.
We cannot find an open ticket that contains the name "Green" either.
Could you let us know the first 5 digits of the e-mail address you have used to contact Nero ? Or resend your e-mail to nero-forum@nero.com, thanks.

Hi Gerald & Wither & whoever clicked "me too"'

I signed in to this forum with Google which uses a different email account. That should not matter after reading this post.

The only email I want to post is the email that eventually helped me. techsupport@nero.com

If anyone does not know the SERIAL NUMBERS of their NMH plug-in orders use the email above to get your serial numbers.

I my case I had my original order emails that listed my serial numbers. Serial numbers are capitol letters and numbers 32 units long (in this format QWE1-RTY2-ASD3-FGH4-ZXC5-VBN6-WSX7-EDC8 )

I sent Nero 7 emails and received 5 from them. It took over a week to find the solution. Plus I was seeking a solution here in the forum.
At the most it should have taken no more than 2 or 3 emails and a couple of days to receive the following instructions.

Here are the instructions if you have your serial numbers.
    1) Open Nero MediaHome
    2) Sign in with your Nero email address & password
    3) Click on your name and select "Your Market Downloads"
    4) Re-enter your Nero password and click "NEXT".
    5) Enter your serial number on the bottom left, a green check mark should appear.
    6) Click Activate

Wither you are much more active on this forum than I am. Please use this info to help anyone needing it. I do not need to be credited in any way.

  • Well, we both learned something today. I was totally unaware of that capability in Nero MediaHome.

It seems that the e-mail address in your forum profile is what is used by tech support for communications. That's why I asked if you were using it.

  • It was so long ago that I participated in this forum, I just logged in with google. I am trying to log in the correct way to see if you can access my email. I did send some emails to customer support. Their email reply was to run a zipped diagnostic tool and send the results.

I felt the results would be NMH is working fine, and I did not want to install WinRAR or WinZIP just to get the results. Customer support was kind of barking at the moon. (or they were way off base)

I could have done the above procedure in 2013 when I purchased my apps but I don't remember. I never had to repeat it.
