I have a 1-year license with automatic renewal purchased at the end of August (when it was available the 2019 version). After the format of my hard drive I had to reinstall Nero when the 2020 was out, but now Nero Control Center does not find any update.
For example, the current version of the Platinum suite is 21.0.02100, while I have version 21.0.01200, while for Burning ROM the actual version is 22.0.00500 while I have 21.0.1019.
Why Control Center does not find updates? I bought the 1-year license to have always Nero updated but, at this point, I think it's better to buy the permanent license and upgrade if I want.
Thanks.

Hello nicos18-
It sounds like you're confusing the installation file version numbers with the software versions. In general, they're not the same. In addition, each app within the suite has it's own version number but the official version of the suite is that for Burning Rom.
That said, you're version isn't up to date. Did you use the installation file from nero.com, downloads? Also, did you install the Content Packs? -
-
@Wither1: Yes, I downloaded the files from from Nero.com and I have the content packs installed.
But, apart from this, I don't understand why ControlCenter does not show any update. -
-
Is 21.0.1019 the version number shown when you open Burning Rom, select Cancel, select KnowHow and then select About..........................?
-
-
@Wither 1: No, the version number of Nero included in the Platinum Suite is 21.0.2005. I downloaded, just for a test, the trial version of Nero Burning ROM stand-alone, and the version is 22.0.1006, and obviously, it says "trial version".
Anyway, in this reply (http://forum.nero.com/nero_eng/topics...) you said this:
"Looking back, you said you "subscribed" to Nero. If you purchased the subscription, not the unlimited) I think you should have gotten an e-mail that v2020 was out and request that you pay the subscription price again. That's the way it works. You pay a lower price for the subscription but you have to pay the subscription price again to get the next version when it comes out."
I received many emails when the version 2020 was out, but I didn't buy anything else apart from the original subscription bought on August 2019. Maybe is this the problem? Because if that's the case, it is better to block the renewal of the 1-year license and buy the permanent license.
I wish you a happy new year! -

Happy New Year to you! I stayed up until 3:45 this morning so I've been a little slow today.
I only have Platinum versions of the suites. I don't know where the 21.0.2005 comes from. Perhaps it's special in some way for a subscription. In Burning Rom 2019, my version number is 20.0.2014. In Burning Rom 2020, my version number is 22.0.1004. Note that the last four may vary depending on operating system.
One thing I found is that when you install v2020 while you have v2019 installed, v2020 replaces most of the v2019 apps. For instance, it replaces the Nero Launcher. To get my v2019 version number for Burning Rom v2019, I had to run the v2019 Nero.exe file. I have submittal to Nero on this behavior to see if that's what it should be doing since I don't have a subscription.
Before you buy anything else, send an e-mail, which contains your v2019 serial number, to feedback@nero.com and describe the problem. They will be able to help you with this. Please let me know how it works out. -

@Wither 1: The Nero support team didn't replied to my ticket, but going throughout the Knowledge base, I discovered that the Platinum suite has the version number 21, while the Nero products with permanent license, have the version number 22.
-
-
Note that all I have is Platinum suites with a permanent number. None of them have the 21 version number for Burning Rom. I don't know why they skipped to v22. I need to submit one for v2020 since I opened backitup the other day and it said it was out of date. The check for updates doesn't find anything. I get caught up in other peoples problems and don't take care of mine. I only use BackItUp v12 so it doesn't really matter.
Have you checked your e-mail spam folder for replies from Nero? Please check.
Also, what date did you submit the e-mail? -
-
@Wither 1: I opened a ticket on the 2nd of January; I only received an email on the 7th saying that my request couldn't be handled in time.

I had the same problem with a recent e-mail to feedback@nero.com. They wanted me to go here-
https://nerosupport.freshdesk.com/en/...
and use New Support Ticket.
I suggest that you try that.
Since I'm talking directly with Nero about my case and haven't gotten a response yet, I'm holding on going that route. -

I opened a ticket from the link that you posted, but nothing, I had to find the answer myself.

I made an inquiry to Nero this morning about your question. Hopefully, you'll get some attention.

I hope so.

As of today, I didn't receive any response from Nero team.
Anyway, I have another question: in my store nero account (https://store.nero.com), in the "My Products" section, next to the order for my platinum subscription, there is a button "renew", and if I click it it brings me to the store page where I can purchase a year of license for Nero. Why is that? -
-
I don't have a store account so I can't get to the area you're talking about. However, if I click on the link you provided and click on the button on the right hand side, it takes me to nero.com. If I go to the Online Shop, it only offers the one year price which is for a subscription. You pay that price once a year, every year and you get the newest version, when available. On the other hand, if I go to nero.com directly and go to the Online Shop, it allows one to purchase an unlimited (permanent) serial number. You won't get the next years version at the reduced price of the subscription but the serial number never expires.
