Nero Recode help for 3D content

I have upgraded to Nero 2016 Platinum and I want to convert a Bluray 3D disk to my iPhone as an SBS file so that I can watch the movie in 3D in my VR headset. When I go into Recode, I do not see the option to save as an SBS file.

  • Ordinarily I would tell you just to select Smart Phone, iPhone and the appropriate model. However, Nero can't encode to 3D and there's no option for video pass through in Recode.

In addition, it's likely your disc is copy protected. In that case, you won't be able to recode the disc in Nero.

  • Wither,

Thank you for the response. I do not have a problem with the copy protect, we own the rights to the video. The only solution I was able to find was with a program called DVDFab. I have never used d the program before. It looks like a competitor to nero so I would have thought that the feature would have been included with the newer version of nero 2016 Platinum. • Nero software doesn't know if you are the holder of copyrights. If you have applied copy protection, it won't allow you to copy or burn the files. In fact, more protection detection software is being added to the firmware of Blu-ray drives every year that's beyond the control of software like Nero.

The problem here is that the video is 3D. You can't recode it in Nero and retain the 3D. Obtaining licenses to encode 3D is very expensive. I suppose our forum expert on 3D might have something to say about stereoscopic 3D but he doesn't have much time to help here.

You can always send an e-mail to techsupport@nero.com for clarification and/or guidance. If you do, please let us know what they have to say.
