I have Nero ROM 12.5.01000. When I use if MS Edge re-defaults to my PDF reader and Notepad re-defaults to my TXT reader.
What can I do about that?

My machine is Intel QuadCore i5-3470 CPU @ 3.20GHz, 32 GB RAM, running MS Windows 10 Home on an MSI B75MA-P45 motherboard.
It was assembled by Net Solution Computers of Morley, Western Australia, and has a SAMSUNG U28D590D VDU driven by an NVIDIA QUADRO K620 Video Card and RealTek High Definition Audio.
I have Windows Defender as Anti-virus with Firefox and Skype running in the background. -

Suggestion: Install an e-book Reader from either the Windows Store or one designed for PC (Desktop). During Set, choose your program as the default e-book reader
The only pre-installed Windows program for e-books is Microsoft Edge. Edge automatically sets itself as default if there is no other e-book reader software installed.
Personally I use MoonReader Pro for PC and Androic, although any e-book reader will work. Hope this helps. -

What are you doing in Edge when it "re-defaults" to the PDF reader. I don't quite understand what you mean.
Also, what is the text reader that Notepad is defaulting to? -

My default PDF reader/editor is Soda PDF 8.2.09.31385 64-bit. When something opens in Edge, W10 cuts in as changes my default reader to Edge. It also changes my default TXT reader from NotePad++ to Notepad.
I have picked up on John Conrad's advice and installed Freda as default eBook reader. We'll see how that goes.
Frankly, the less I have to do with Edge the better. -

In Edge, click on Tools and select Internet Options. In the Programs tab, go to internet programs and select Set Programs. Select Set Associations for files..................... Go to .pdf. What is the program set as the default for it? If it's not Soda, then select Change and insert the path to the file that starts Soda. Do a similar thing for the .txt files. Obviously, you want to use Notepad++.
My instructions are for IE 11 but you can do the same thing by going to Control Panel, Default Programs.
Does that help? -

Thanks Wither 1
I'd already done that and still had the problem. The idea John Conrod came up with (above) seems to be holding.-
If you're happy with that, so am I. I'm not sure what it has to do with Notepad.
