nero video aborts blu-ray processing

After importing a video file to Nero video, it gives me the message process aborted." It just started doing this recently. I can burn image files of DVD but suddenly my blu-ray processes abort.
I am using Nero 14 but I downloaded 16 and it still doesn't work.

  • Hello Kurt-

Is it possible that the files you're working with are copy protected?

  • No, I created the files in Final Cut. I tried using files that I had imaged in the past but now they won't work. But that was a good suggestion. Something in my system must have changed. I am still using Windows 7 pro and Microsoft might have updated my system with an incompatible file of some kind. I am hoping someone else has had this problem and have solved it. Otherwise I am stuck making my disk images on the Mac in Final Cut (a SLOWWW process!).

  • I hear you about something changing on your system. One never knows what Microsoft might do but, generally, they don't change anything affecting Nero. If they do, Nero tries to adjust the software as necessary.

At what point in Nero do you get that message?

What is the format of the files created in Final Cut?

Where do the image files come from and where are you burning them from in Nero?

  • Hi--
When I am in Nero Video creating a blu-ray disk image I import the file. That works. I create (or don't) a menu. That works. All the steps work until I have pressed the button to create the disk image. It processes for about 45 seconds, the gives me the "process aborted" message.
I can create lots of file formats in Final Cut. I usually go with the MOV format, but I have also made MP4 files. And I also do some editing in Avid Studio, creating MP4 files. I have tried WMV, FLV, MOV, and MP4. They all process up to the point where they have to create an image file, then they abort.
What is odd is I CAN create regular DVDs from these exact same files and they process and image just fine.
Nero Burning ROM burns all the image files I create in any program. I just can't get Nero Video to make me a blu-ray image file.
And, as i mentioned in my first note, I downloaded Nero 16, thinking that something in my Nero 14 had become corrupt or a Windows update had messed something up, but I still get the same results with this fresh install. This is the first time I have had any problem with Nero since upgrading to Nero 14 to handle the blu-ray format.
I will say that the biggest problem with Nero is you can't actually call them to ask questions, despite the little phone icon on their contact page.

  • I replied to this earlier but somehow the reply wasn't posted.

Are you able to burn your project to your hard disk rather than the Image Recorder?

  • I am trying it right now and it appears to be working. It never got this far before. It always aborted a few seconds after I tried to create the image file. So if this works, what do you think the problem is with making an image file?
Thanks for your continued interest in this.
    Best

  • Thanks.

At first, I thought there might be a problem with your patent activations but, if it creates a BDMV (or BDAV) on your hard disc, that shouldn't be an issue.

I can't figure out why it wouldn't burn to the image recorder unless you have selected some location on your system for the files which either isn't accessible or doesn't have enough space.

I assume you have run the check for updates from the Nero controlcenter and there are none.

I created a blu-ray disc project with one file and the default menu in v14 and burned it to the Image Recorder.

If you have a relatively small file that you are willing to share for me to try, upload it to filedropper.com. When it's uploaded, it will provide a link which you can copy and paste here.

Your other option is to contact tech support. I think they're still supporting v14. Go to nero.com, support, contact, technical support.
