Nero Video Text Editor...

I miss the cut and paste ability you could do with the old Text editor in Nero Video. Is there any chance of putting this option back or put in a spell checker. It saves a lot of time and mistakes being made.

  • Hi Lee-

Which Text effect are you using?

If you're using the Static Text, for example, you just select the part that you want to cut using mouse controls. It should be highlighted. Right click and select Cut. Do the same thing where you want to paste what you cut. You can paste anything that's on the clipboard, if you don't want to paste what you cut.

I don't think Nero ever had a spell checker for text.

  • It should not matter what text effect I am using and it certainly never did before Nero changed the way you edit the text back in about 2015. Back then I could simply type out the text in Microsoft Word so I knew it was spelled right and copy and paste it into the text editor in Nero Video. Since they changed its now impossible to do that.

  • Hi Wither...

I have just sussed out how to do it. Before you could simply highlight the word in Microsoft Word right click and copy and paste it into the Nero Text editor. That can no longer be done and I think it might be down to Microsoft Word itself changing things. To copy and paste anything from Word these days you have to hold down CTRL + C then + V to paste it. I just tried it in Nero Video and it worked. Problem solved.

  • I asked about the specific effect because, from experience, the properties of different effects vary. Just wanted to be on the same page with you.

i didn't mention the keyboard shortcuts since, deja vu, I used v2015 to check it out even though, in the back of my mind, I thought there were some changes made in the abilities to edit effects in subsequent versions. My apologies, they changed the editing properties in v2016. The only thing I got correct was my comment about the Windows clipboard.
    • No problem Wither and I am sure if I had not sussed it you would have done in the end and we would have got around to be on the same page so to speak. To be honest I still do prefer the old text editor they had and personally I do not think how they changed it was for the better. I am so used to using my mouse to cut and paste and it's only really more recently that I have had to use keyboard shortcuts because of how Microsoft Word functions online in relation to how it used to function when you just installed the software on your computer. I have actually installed my old Microsoft Word cause that online version sucks and is laggy
    • Most people, including me, like using the mouse. Witness the fiasco called Win 8. Few people wanted to have to constantly touch a screen to do things (except as required on smart phones and their ilk). I like to sit back in my chair and mouse, instead of having to let go of it and use the keyboard.
