Nero Vision missing orbit template.
I stated using windows 10. The installation of Nero 10 was all right with the orbit template showing up in Nero Vision as expected. The I installed Nero 12, then Nero 14, then Nero 17. Installed and uninstalled several times. But still Nero Vision does not show the orbit template. How do I fix these versions of Nero so that all templates appear in Nero Vision? Right now only the default template appears. It seems all versions are accessing the same file. Where is it?

For all versions after v10, the Nero Video file you're looking for would be here-
C:\Program Files (x86)\Nero\Nero 11\NeroContent\Standard2D\SD -

Arnold,
I had a similar issue a couple of years ago:

I just reinstalled Nero 12. The above file does not exist in that location

I found that file on another drive and copied it to that location. Nero Vision 12 still does not see that. When I try to edit a file using Nero Vision 12 it shows Standard2d but the only template is the default template. So how do I get Nero Vision 12 to see all the templates in Standard2d? It seems to be accessing something somewhere, perhaps in the registry?!!

On my system, every version of Nero Video uses the Orbit as the default for a DVD-Video project. Did you install the Content Pack for v12? Also, which installer for v12 are you using? It should be 12.5.02100.
Note that v12 and v14 are not Win 10 compatible but we can get into that later.-
Additional questions-
Are you using Platinum? Did you purchase it from Nero?
You said you found the file on a different drive. I assume you meant that you found the Orbit folder and copied it. Also, was that folder there as part of a different installation before the drive you're using now? -

the file Nero 11\NeroContent\Standard2D was from another installation, I think Nero 2014. But the installation of Nero 12 did not put this into the folder on the c drive. I deleted all references to Nero 12 and Nero 2017, cleared the registry and deleted all the files for Nero 12 and Nero 2017. Restarted the computer and installed Nero 12. You would think that after deleting everything with the new installation at least some of the templates in standard2d would be there. But no, it goes back to only showing one template and that is the default template. So there is something somewhere that Nero 12 is referencing that was not deleted. But what is it?

Oh, from the earlier comment, yes I installed the content pack. I bought Nero 12 Platinum directly from Nero as a download, unfortunately no disc. However I do have the disc for Nero 2017 Platinum but the same thing happened with nero vision (video). So the same question: What is nero vision referencing and where is it and how do I change it? It seems that no matter which folder I put the NeroContent nothing changes.

The referenced Nero 11 folder would have been installed by v12 and used (and modified) by all subsequent versions.
First thing I want you to do is download this file-
https://www.dropbox.com/s/hfgtpjg2t53...
Right click on it and select "run as administrator."
It will, in effect, uninstall all your Nero installations.
Then, please go here-
https://www.nero.com/enu/downloads/pr...&
and download the installation file and the Content Pack.
Right click on the installation file and select Properties. Check the box to "run this program as administrator." In the Compatibility tab, set the mode to Win 7. Apply the change. Run the installation.
Do the same thing for the Content Pack.
Does that help?
If not, you might have to get your patents reactivated since you installed v12 on two hard drives, which I assume had the operating system when you installed it. We'll see what happens first. -

Thank you very much. That worked. I have spent three days trying to do this. So thank you again. Now am I up to installing Nero 2017?

I'm glad you had success. You could do the same thing with v2014.
v2017 is Win 10 compatible so you should be able to readily install it without jumping through those hoops.
Enjoy! -
