Nero 9 Essentials to Burn Blu-Ray...

My "Manufactured Dec 2013" Blu-Ray Rewriter came with "Nero 9 Essentials". How can I make this burn my Blu-Ray onto a blank 25GB Blu-Ray disc?

Can Platinum 14 burn purchased Blu-Rays? I have "The Internship" on Blu-Ray I bought new on Amazon a week ago. I want to bring it on vacation with me for the plane trip... however, I've lost DVD's before on vacation, so a copy is fine with me. Now that Blu-Ray is expensive, I want to make a home/travel copy.

I bought an LG Blu-Ray "Everything Possible" internal burner and installed. It was made 12/13. It comes with Nero 9. The current version is Nero 14. What??

I researched and found that I have to spend an additional $45 on Amazon for additional software to make this device burn Blu-Ray....

EXCEPT, AND NOTE THIS... it will NOT allow copywriter materials to be copied. No capabilities noted. It cannot be done. What?

Where can I find something that will allow me to copy my Blu-Ray on my brand new burner? Anyone's help is so greatly appreciated...

Essentials won't burn media in a blu-ray format (.m2ts or .mts). Nero has to pay a licensing fee to the patent holders for each person that uses Nero for this purpose and that fee is included in a paid version.

However, neither Nero nor its major software competitors will burn copy protected media due to international laws.

    Thank you for your reply.
I have DVD-Cloner and have not had a problem copying my massive collection of DVD's. Not one problem. They are copy protected.
Do you know of ANY software I can use to burn these Blu-Rays to disc? I am going to Maui in May and would like some night time movie watching...
I have lost originals on flight in the past and forgotten some in resort rooms...
    I can't lose these originals.
Please!!! There MUST be something out there that does this?
I'll pay for it. I just need an honest reference for this.
    Thank you again Wither 1.

Burning these kind of discs is touchy in Nero. Some people are able to do it with some discs but not all. Then, the more recent blu-ray drives have copy protection detection within the firmware and it's highly sensitive. The only way around that one is a hack.

I'm uninstalling it now and returning it to Amazon.com. I have no use for an $88 Blu-Ray "Burner" that doesn't do it's primary job: Burn. Thank you for your assistance. You really saved me a LOT OF HEADACHES!!!

  • The Information from Wither is not correct.

The functions of the Essentials version depends on the requirements of the OEM - a OEM can order a version that includes all needed patents for BluRay Burning (if he pays patent fees).

So, it depends on your OEM-Version. If it is statet that the OEM-Version should be able to create BD-Videos, I would suspect that this version contains the features.

    For:

This are the current laws in the us, germany and many other countries - it is forbidden by law to make and sell the software that is able to bypass the copyprotection.

As soon as the law is changed, nero will of cause support copy of this media

    • Sylvia- please start your own thread on your problems. Include all details that will allow us to be able to try to reproduce your problem.

In regards to blu-ray, I agree with Jens but it's highly unlikely that a OEM is going to actually pay the activatation fees.
