Nero MediaHome maximum capacity???

I have Nero Platinum and Nero MediaHome and I am in the process of uploading my extensive music collection onto it. I currently have 51,000 tracks on it. Over the past few days Nero continually crashes, even before it's loaded up. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it to no avail. I am wondering if, in effect, there is a limit to the number of tracks that Nero can hold and that this is what is causing the problem? If anyone can help I would be very grateful, thanks.

  • Do you have Nero MediaHome set to automatically add media?

How large is the folder (s) total that have your tracks?

It is no use "solving a question" by asking a "question". Need an anser to "Max capacity". It seems a very simple question to answer.

  • Since most of us in the forum are volunteers who don't work for Nero, the best way we can address problems of this nature is to ask questions to dig deeper into the cause of the problem. It's been my modus operandi here in the forum for almost 6 years.

If you want an expert answer, you can either hope that one of the Nero employees responds or you can send an e-mail to tech support at techsupport@nero.com.

I suspect one of the Nero employees will respond in the morning so I'll bow out of this one.

  • Hello Gail Willoughby,

there is no limitation at Nero MediaHome for this.

Please ensure that you have all hidden folders and files displayed on your system.

    Please proceed as follows:

    Windows 8:
Please open the Windows Explorer and enable the checkboxes "File name extensions" and "Hidden items" in the menu bar.

    Windows 7:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/wi...

    Windows Vista:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/wi...

    Window XP:
    http://www.microsoft.com/resources/do...

Once this is done, reboot your computer.

    Rename the following folders:

    Windows 8 + 7 + Windows Vista:

    (1)
Change the name of the “Nero“ Folder from
    C:\User\\AppData\Local\Nero
    To
    “Nero1”
    C:\User\\AppData\Local\Nero1

    (2)
Change the name of the “Nero_Ag“ Folder from
    C:\User\\AppData\Local\Nero_Ag
    to
    Nero_Ag1
    C:\User\\AppData\Local\Nero_Ag1

    Windows XP:
Change the name of the folder “Nero” from
    C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Nero1
    To
    Nero_Ag
    C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Nero_Ag1

Nw please check if Nero MediaHome will crash again.

If this will not resolve the Problem, the technical support team will be glad to assist you in solving this issue by analyzing it individually. Please follow the steps below and send the generated logs by e-mail.

    1. Download the file "GetSupportFiles.zip" from
    http://www.nero.com/link.php?topic_id...
    to your hard disk.

    2. Unzip the file with WinZip or WinRAR and save the content to your hard drive.

    3. Double-click on the unzipped EXE-file to start the tool.

    4. After the tool has run successfully, the file "NeroSupport.cab" will be available on your desktop.

    5. Please send us this file as an attachment as well as a brief problem description with your next email. Send your e-mail to
techsupport@nero.com and enter "Nero Forum" to the subject line.
