Nero Platinum crashes for over two weeks, no help from support. Shoddy software

Nero 14 Platinum repeatedly crashes (I've owned it for two weeks, and it has never worked). I am using Nero Media Home, just to listen to music. Two or three songs is all I get before the next crash. Uploaded the CAB file, was sent a link and told to uninstall my previous version, and then reinstall from the link. Same behaviour as before. My messages have been ignored after my first one. Seeking a refund.

  • Scott- I assume that you have been using the same e-mail address for all your correspondence with tech support.

    Check your e-mail spam folder to see if a tech support response may have accidently been placed there. I'm assuming you don't have it set to automatically delete what it thinks is spam.

    If there's no response there, get the tech support ID number from one of the tech support responses. Go here-

    and go to the chat line. Ask the status of your problem resolution. Note that the chat line is on GMT or about 6 hours ahead of EST.

    Note that I've listened to 5 songs in a row without a crash and NMH is still playing.

    I have to ask- is your v14 up to date as determined by running the check for updates from the Nero ControlCenter.

    Unfortunately I couldn ́t find any correspondence with TechSupport from the e-mail address that you use to login the Forum. You have probably been using a different one. Could you please give me your case ID number so I can locate your e-mails? It is written in the Subject of the e-mail that you received from TechSupport the first time.

    @Sgt Press, What is the exact problem in your case? Do you get to start Nero MediaHome and it crashes during playback, or you do not get to start the application at all?

    This sounds like an old problem that was supposed to be fixed in a recent update. You might want to follow the advice in Nero 2014 Platinum - MediaHome stopped working.

    If the latest update has been installed, the best would be for you to contact TechSupport directly at techsupport@nero.com

    This kind of problem needs to be analyzed independently.
    Please send us a NeroSupport.cab:

    1) Click the following link to download the "GetSupportFiles.zip" file to your hard drive:

    2) Extract the zipped file on your hard drive using WinZip or WinRAR. Start the tool by double-clicking the EXE-file.
    -> The "C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe" window opens.
    The tool may take several minutes.
    You can track the single steps in the displayed window.

    3) After the tool has successfully run you will find a file named "NeroSupport.cab" on your desktop.

    4) Please send us this file as an e-mail attachment.

    5) Also please add a link to this Topic so we can relate your e-mail to this case.

    6)Please enter Nero Forum in the e-Mail subject.

    I'm having the same problem with the newest version of Nero Platinum 2017. I have sent emails from both my email accounts and haven't received any response. The support is the one of the worst I have encountered since purchasing Nero 4.
