Nvidia CUDA much slower in Nero Video than in Nero Recode

Exporting a 60 min video to AVC in Nero Video 2019 using Nvidia CUDA Hardware Acceleration takes over 1 hour but in Nero Recode 2019 it takes 20 min to export the same video to MPEG4-AVC using Nvidia CUDA. Export settings are the same in both software.

    nbdg223,

I exported a 20 min video from Nero Video and Nero Recode 2019 as AVC using Intel Quick Sync hardware acceleration. Nero Video took over 12 minutes; Nero Recode about half that. Pictures:

  • Many thanks for confirming that, Omega Tester.

The title of the thread should have been 'Hardware Acceleration much slower in Nero Video than in Nero Recode' as I also have Intel Quick Sync and it's also much slower in Nero Video than in Nero Recode when exporting to AVC in Nero 2019 and in Nero 2017.

Omega Tester, if you enable 'Motion-adaptive deinterlacing' in Nero Video it increases the encoding time substantially with hardware acceleration enabled. In Nero Recode setting 'Deinterlace' to 'Motion Adaptive' (instead of 'Automatic') also increases the encoding time substantially when exporting to MPEG4-AVC with hardware acceleration enabled. Exporting to AVC in Nero Video with 'Motion-adaptive deinterlacing' enabled and hardware acceleration disabled adds about another 20 min extra time to complete compared with hardware acceleration enabled.
