Problem Burning Some FLACs on Nero 2016, Burning ROM
I'm running Nero 2016 on a Windows 10 Home PC. When using Burning ROM to create an Audio CD, some FLACs can't be added, or they cause the burning process to abort. I looked at 1 file that worked fine & the FLAC library used was 1.1.2; the file that didn't work was 1.2.1. Is the problem caused by the newer version of the FLAC library. I really don't want to go backwards, so is there a fix for this, e.g., copy a DLL file to the Nero Program Files folder? I've checked with Nero Controlcentre that everything is up to date.

Hi Mike-
Would you upload one of the problem files to a website such as OneDrive, dropbox, etc.; share it and provide the link to it here? -

It's a 16-bit FLAC. When I try to add it to Burning ROM, I get the attached message.

I tried adding it to Burning Rom 2015 and got the same message. Tried recoding to other formats using Recode and the output wouldn't play the audio.
It wouldn't play in Nero MediaHome although GraceNote recognized it. I could play it in VLC Player but it couldn't convert the file to another format.
When I opened it in MediaInfo, it says it's EAC-Flac. Apparently it was created using EAC (Exact Audio Copy) software which is for ripping CDs. In GSpot, it says it's x-flac and it can't find the codec in the codecs on my sytem.
Not sure what's up with that. You would assume the output would be usable for general purposes. Don't know if your file is copy protected. EAC gives options when ripping as to whether you want the output for a portable player. Not sure what the difference would be.
Found this but I don't know if it would help-

Mike,
I downloaded your file and had problems importing it into Nero Burning ROM 2019, and Nero Video. It imported into Nero Recode, but failed to convert. It plays in Nero MediaHome 2019 and other players on my laptop.
It can be converted by other programs, such as the free XMedia Recode or the free VLC Media Player. -

Thanks anyhow. Just now I used dbPoweramp to convert this FLAC to a WAV file; I could then use it in a new Audio CD in Nero. I then converted the WAV to FLAC, and once again Nero choked on it, with the same messages.
Bizarre. -
