Reinstallation of Nero 9 Won't Accept Serial #. Windows xp. Ran Nero clean tool first.Did this a couple years ago and it worked. Not now!

After downloading and running the clean tool I downloaded the nero9 update from a link that was given to me via email from Jenny from nero or ahead. Don't remember which. support live chat. Downloads fine. Go to install it and when I enter the last letter/number of my serial number I get a pop up that says my trail period has expired with the options to cancel or go to the nero web site and upgrade to nero14. If I click cancel or the red x at the top of pop up my serial number is removed and I have to input serial number again. Tried numerous times with the same results.
I have sent them numerous emails that included my problem along with my pay pal receipt where/when I Nero9. I was told to contact Nero directly and given the link. I sent them a detailed discription of my issue and have not got a reply. (2 weeks) Why is this so hard to do this time?

    • Hi John,

As I said, before, the problem was that you didn ́t give us the correct e-mail address until your last e-mail. You have purchased your Nero 9 version under the e-mail address that starts with jiggers19. Only then we could find your order.
      Now everything should be ok!

      Best regards,
      NeroUser

  • Hi John,

You should have received an e-Mail from TechSupport today. Please check your MailBox.

The problem in your case is that the serial number that you are entering during the installation process corresponds to the Nero 9 trial vesion, which has longer expired.
You need to find your Nero 9 serial number to be able to install your Nero 9 version. The one that you are using, the one you sent TechSupport starting with 8m01, is not a valid number for a complete Nero 9 version.

We have sent you all the information needed to try to find your Nero 9 serial number via e-mail.
    Hope that helps!

    Best regards,
    NeroUser

  • Hi John,

You should have received your serial number by now. Efectively, the purchase has been done from your other e-mail address, the one starting with jiggers19. This is why we couldn ́t locate your order confirmation under the one you used to send us the original message. Once you ́ve sent us the second one, we could locate it. Now everything should be ok.

I'm going to mention and question a number of things.

First, I don't know how many times you installed/reinstalled v9 on your old system. For v9 and earlier, and I think later, the maximum number of times is 5. After that, you need to contact tech support at techsupport@nero.com to get your serial reinstated.

If the above is not the case, you should have been asked why you're reinstalling when you tried to install on your new system. Did it? Of all the options, you should not select that you want to run it on two computers.

Please explain in detail what it says in regards to your serial number. I don't know what "does not work" means.

If you go to the Nero ControlCenter, is your serial number shown correctly?

In addition, note that v9 is not compatible with Win 8 except, possibly, in a compatibility mode. You would need v9.4.26 or later for it to be compatible with Win 7..

I don't know which version of v9 is on your recovery disc. Instead of using it, go to Nero.com, downloads, previous product downloads and download/install the update installation file for v9. Insert your purchased serial number during the installation. You will also want to download/install the Creative pack from the same reference.

  • I’m thankful
    Hi:

Thanks for the speedy response. Okay, first, I do not know how to edit the above response to delete my emails. Can you delete the comment for me?

    As for the rest:

    1) This is my first reload of NERO 9.

    2) I dont get a "control center." I load the CD, it asks if I want to install NERO 9 or NERO BACKITUP & BURN. I hit "next" and it asks for my serial #. I plug it in. I try to hit "next" again but it does not move (screen where i put the serial # in just turns blue and if I hit a key, the serial# then disappears.

    3) Finally, I tired your last suggestion and it worked! Thank you.

  • The update should be v9.4.44.0b. I can't load it on this system because I have it installed on my other system but I just tried to download it and, sure enough, that's the version for the download. There's actually a small update for it to v9.44.0c but that's not available and it's not of any consequence.

It might be that the serial is for Backitup and Burn. For v9, if you had v9 Reloaded (which I think was something like 9.4.20, you could install Backitup and Burn 4 separately and it had it's own serial number. If you didn't do that, you got a bare bones Backitup which had limited capability.

If I was at home, I could check my serial numbers to get an idea of what you should have.

Try something. Install Backitup and Burn and use that serial number. Does it work?

    Hi Eric,

We will need to check your serial number. If you get an X instead of a check mark, is becuase the serial number you are entering is not correct. Maybe there is a typing error.

For us to be able to check it, please send an e-mail to techsupport@nero.com with your serial number. We will check it and let you know if the number is the correct one. If not we will help you find it.

    Best regards,

  • Hello:

Thank you, I tried entering it numerous times (using zero and the letter "O") and no luck.

I will email you the serial # now.

**I just sent it. Instead of typing it, I sent you a scan of the actual envelope with the serial # on it.

    Thanks!

    Eric

  • Hello Eric,

You should have received an e-mail from TechSupport by now. Can you please try with the lastest Nero 9 version available in our web site, and copy and paste the number provided by my colleague? Your Nero 9 serial number is valid. It should be a type error if you cannot enter this number during the Nero 9 installation process (not Nero BackItUp & Burn).

    Best regards,
    NeroUser
