Shrunken video and black frame - how do I eliminate?

I use Nero 12 Platinum and import AVI video. When I create and export to avc, with aspect ratio 4:3 and 320x240 (same as source), the output has a black frame around a shrunken video approx 220 width. the rest of the 320x240 is framed in black unlike the source. What am I doing wrong?

    Hi Norman Acunis,
Generally this issue occurs when your sourec video doesn't have the same aspect ratio or video size (exact 320*240?)as your export settings. Please check the settins for your export. Please try to preview your source in Nero Video 12,Does it has black bars or frame ? If it is, you can edit the video in Advaned Editing, then Edit window displays Select the Advanced Editing from the left margin. Now Please check Scale under the Effect Palette. Then use the "Scale and Fit". Hope it helps.

To convert video format, we suggest you use Nero Recode 12, which provides more video formats and pre-defined profile for your device. Easy and quick to convert.

  • In both cases, width are 320. On the height, one is 236 (source) and destination is 240. Scale and fit worked! Thanks so much.
