I’m frustrated

sound and video not synchronized with Nero video 14

Hello,

I've a mounting (1h35 during) and when I finish it and want to encode it for a DVD, it's working well, but when I play the DVD, the sound is not synchronized with the video. A the start it's not visible, but throughout the timing, the desynchronization is growing up. At the end I have about 3 sec of desynchronization.

The video source are on HD (1920x1080) AVCHD and I want to obtain a DVD.
I've udpate the Nero software.

How could I create a DVD without desynchronization?

Thanks.

Englsih is not my native language, so excuse me for it; I'm doing my best!

    Hello,

    I too had this problem.

I solved it by importing the source MP4 file into Nero Recode and encoding to MP4, then importing the output MP4 (produced by Recode) into Nero Video.

    http://forum.nero.com/nero_eng/topics...

So import your source 1920x1080 HD file into Nero Recode and encode to MP4 1920x1080.

Then, import the output MP4 1920x1080 file (from Recode) into Nero Video and make your DVD.

I hope this works for you too.

  • Hello,

Thanks for your answer, but my source is already in NeroVideo because it is a NeroVideo mounting. The video source of this mounting is multiple HD 1920x1080 and I add transition, effect, music, text....
Now I need to export my final projet to DVD and I have this problem of synchonisation :-(

  • Hi Fred,

The suggestion made by nbdg223, would be to recode your source files before editing them within Nero Video. Programs such as Nero Recode or "TS Remux" can be used for this task.
The problem is that in most cases, the out of sync problem is caused by individual frames being damaged or even frames being completely lost during recording (capturing) video files in the first place. Possible consequences are disproportionate synchronicity between video and audio tracks or the complete loss of the sound track after transcoding.
This is why recoding the source files with Nero Recode or "TS Remux" for example, should solve the problem.

    Best regards,
    NeroUser

  • Hello,

Does it mean that I need to import again all my source file in MP4?
I used the import function of nero video and I have already finish the mounting.
Should I restart the import of all my source video files? (more than 20 hours of video for a final mounting of 1h30!)
When I look at the mounting on Nero Video, the sound synchronization is ok. If I export on a AVCHD file from Nero Video, the sound is OK too (exept if I change the format of destination, in this case the synchronisation is not ok).
How could I write my actual mounting of 1h30 (and a lot of working hours) on a DVD without problem of synchronisation?

If I understand your solution, it means that we can't do a video mounting of AVCHD files? because If we recode the AVCHD files in MP4 before, the video source is not HD?

    Thanks.

  • Hi Fred,

If I understand correctly, you want to put the AVCHD files onto DVD. So you want to make a AVCHD DVD ?

If you recode the source AVCHD 1920x1080 file to MPEG-4 1920x1080 in Nero Recode, then it should still be a HD file of MPEG-4 1920x1080.

As a test, can you import one AVCHD 1920x1080 source file into Nero Recode and recode to MPEG-4 1920x1080 HD. This output MPEG-4 1920x1080 HD file (produced by Recode) is then imported into Nero Video to write an AVCHD DVD to your hard drive as a test. Then you play the AVCHD DVD on your hard drive to test if the video and audio synchronisation (async) problem has been fixed.

If the async has been fixed, then you can import all your other source AVCHD 1920x1080 files into Nero Recode to recode to MPEG-4 1920x1080 HD, and then import them into Nero Vision to make your AVCHD DVD with menu, music, etc.

  • I’m despairing
    hello.

Thank you on more time for your support. I realy apreciate it!

In fact, I have different files recorded with a camera. This files are in AVCHD. I've import this files on my computer, Then I've open Nero Video and I've create a mounting. The files sources are about 20 hours recording and the mounting is about 1 hour 30 minutes.

When I've finished project, I wanted to make a DVD of it. So I click on next and chose my DVD menu. On the right end, I chose "DVD" as support and next until Nero write the projet on a DVD. But a DVD has only 4,8 Gb, so I suppose that Nero Video have to recode it. The burning is OK, but when I read the DVD, I have the asynch problem.

I've try to chose the export option from Nero Video and export my project as a AVCHD movie. Then I open this AVCHD movie with Nero Recode and convert it on MPEG-4 format. The final movie (in MPEG-4) has still the asynch problem :-(

I've no idea how I can make a correct DVD of my Nero mounting projet. It's a lot of working time to make this mounting and now I can't use it!

Thanks a lot if you can help me in this case...

  • Hi Fred,

So you would like to make a DVD (MPEG-2) 720x576 (PAL) or 720x480 (NTSC) ?

Can you import one source AVCHD file into Nero Recode and recode to MPEG-2 as a test to see if it still has async when you play this MPEG-2 file ?

    Thanks.

  • Question- Are you wanting to make a DVD-Video, which is playable on any standalone DVD player or are you wanting a AVCHD-DVD which is only playable on a blu-ray player?

  • I want a standard DVD (4,8 Gb) playable on any standalone DVD player.
    And I need a DVD (MPEG-2) 720x576 (PAL).

I'm gonna try with a AVCHD source file and recode as a test and tell the result. But in my projet, at the starting of the movie the sound is synch and throughout the movie the sound is increasingly asynch.

  • I’m confused
As suggessed, I've tryed to recode my AVCHD 1920x1080 source files with Nero Recode to MPEG-4 1920x1080.
Result: without import it to Nero Video, when I look at the MPEG-4 movie, the asynch is already present. :-(

    Any suggest?

  • Hi Fred,

As I stated in my previous post, please convert the one AVCHD file to MPEG-2 in Nero Recode (not MPEG-4). Let us know if the async is present or not in the output MPEG-2 file. Thanks.

  • Hi again and thanks again!

I recode with XMedia Recode but your message has change!
So I'm gonna try in MPEG-2 with NeroVideo.

I can say that with Xmedia Recode, the synch is ok, BUT the video quality is bad! :-( I have line on picture when the move is fast...

I gonna try now with nero and come back to u!

  • Yes I noticed you didn't recode to MPEG-2 so deleted my suggestion to try XMedia Recode. Please try to recode one AVCHD file to MPEG-2 (not MPEG-4) in Nero Recode.

If you still have async, then can you please try with the freeware XMedia Recode. The latest version is 3.1.8.7. In 'Preferences' you might have to choose 'English' if your language is not English, so you can follow my following instructions.

Import one AVCHD file into XMedia Recode (click on 'Open Folder'), click on the 'Format' tab and in 'Profile', select 'Custom'. In 'Format', select 'MPEG2'. Select the 'Video' tab and click on 'Framerate' and select '25 (Pal)'.

Now click on 'Add Job' and then click on 'Encode'.

Please advise if the output MPEG2 file still has async or not.

  • Good news! With Nero recode to MPEG-2 the synch and the picture is OK!!

But does it means that now I have to recode all my files in MPEG-2 before using it with Nero Video?

Is that a solution to use my mounting I've already done with AVCHD sources files??

Fred: "When I look at the mounting on Nero Video, the sound synchronization is ok. If I export on a AVCHD file from Nero Video, the sound is OK too (exept if I change the format of destination, in this case the synchronisation is not ok)."

Can you export your project in Nero Video, and in 'Format' select 'AVCHD / Blu-ray' and in 'Profile' select 'AVCHD compatible'. Click on 'Configure' and in 'Quality setting' select 'HDTV FULL HD' so the output is 1920x1080 to match your source AVCHD 1920x1080 files.

After Nero Video is finished exporting your project, can you import the output AVCHD file (from Nero Video) into Nero Recode and recode to MPEG-2.

Then in Nero Video homepage, select 'DVD -> DVD-video' in the 'Create & Export' section, import the output MPEG-2 from Nero Recode back into Nero Video and add your menu, music, chapters, etc. and burn to DVD.

  • Fred: "Good news! With Nero recode to MPEG-2 the synch and the picture is OK!!"

It's great that Nero Recode fixed the async!

I had the same problem as you with async when using AVCHD files to make a project in Nero Video 2014. In the beginning of the output Nero Video AVCHD DVD, there is no async but as time passes the async begins and gets steadily worse. But Nero Recode fixed the async for me too!

In future maybe Nero Video can fix the async during transcoding? There does appear to be a problem sometimes with async with (damaged) AVCHD files imported into Nero Video 2014.

    :-( :-( :-(

    Hi again,

As I said before, my sound asynch problem is now correct, BUT... the picture quality seems not OK this time! :-(

For resume, as nbdg223 explain to me, I've export my Nero Video mounting project in AVCHD 1920x1080. At this time, I already have big lines when there is a fast move on picture :-( (as you can see on print screen)

After, when I convert this file, of course the default is still present. :-(
I was so happy that my sound asynch what soluced and it change to another trouble...

Any idea about that? I configure AVCHD compatible - 25 fps - PAL

  • In this case, I recommend using Motion Adaptive deinterlacing and Motion Adaptive frame-rate conversion, in the Recording Format Options in the Export configure settings.

  • Fred: "Any idea about that? I configure AVCHD compatible - 25 fps - PAL"

Are your source AVCHD files also PAL 25 fps ? Or PAL 50 fps ? Are they Progressive ? Can you use MediaInfo to get information about your source AVCHD files ?

After clicking on 'Export', in the settings after you click on 'Configure' for 'AVCHD Compatible', if you select 'Frame rate' as 50 fps, the 'Sample Format' is shown as 'Progressive'. You can then select 'Motion-adaptive deinterlacing'.

For information, I used the AVC Nvidia preset from NeroVideo exportation, and I obtain a good file that I can burn after from NeroVideo as explain by Nbdg223.

Thanks to everybody who help me with this case!

However, you shouldn't have to do an export to correctly burn your files to disc. I think it's something that tech support should hear about.

Maybe NeroUser will see this and comment.
