Text shadows
Can I move the text shadows closer to the white text? It looks bad as is but can't find how to move it closer. I could do it with Nero 9.

Which version of Nero are you using? Are all the Content Packs installed? Is it up to date as determined by running the check for updates from the Nero ControlCenter?
I don't know how you were able to do it in v9 since, to my knowledge, that feature wasn't available until v15.-
See my next post for a correction to my last statement.

I'm using Nero 12.
Come to think of it maybe I didn't do it on Nero 9, but I definitely used on 12. -

Thanks.
i had checked v9 through v14 on my desktop this morning. I just checked v12 on this work station and the feature isn't there.. I have the platinum versions of v10 through v14 and the Reloaded version of v9. Note that I only checked the Straight Scroller. However, I just remember that not all text effects can be edited the same as others. I checked a few more in v12. I found that ability in the Static Text and Zooming Text. Didn't check all of them.. If you have the effect palette open, click on the text effect when it's on the timeline, it's properties will show up in the right hand side of the screen..
Now I'm embarrassed because I didn't think of this.-
I just checked the static text and zooming text in v10 and you can make adjustments to the shadow.
So, you need to use a text effect which has this adjustment.
I don't have v9 on this system. -

That's because you're in Express Editing. You need to be in Advanced Editing. In the screenshot above, click on Advanced Editing. Note that you sometimes may lose edits you made in Express Editing and go to Advanced Editing in this manner and vice versa. You will be warned about that if it can't go from one to the other without losing something you did. In that case, you will need to either redo whatever edits that will be lost or recreate your project in the appropriate editing screen.

You mean saving and reopening is not enough?

Not if you want to save all your edits when moving to the other screen. As mentioned, some edits may not be transferable. Just depends on what you did. It's especially a problem when going from Advanced editing to Express editing since some edits made in the former may not be possible in the latter.

I made a copy of the project (after adding a new video segment in express editing), but when I opened the copy project, and switched to advanced editing, the new segment was not there. I tried that twice. Why is the new segment not showing up?

I can't answer that question. I just tried creating/saving a project in Express Editing. I then opened it and added another video file and then switched to advanced editing without problem. Did NV flag anything when you went to advanced editing?
You're best off either recreating your project in Advanced Editing or exporting the project created in Express Editing to file and then importing that into Advanced Editing and doing edits. I realize that either way is somewhat of a pain but I think the latter method is a much easier option if it takes a long time to recreate the original project. -
