Hi, I just bought and installed Nero Platinum 2016 thinking it would make possible the reading of Bluray DVDs with Windows 10.
It does not work (I already had Nero Platinum 2014 which stopped reading Bluray DVDs when I migrated to Windows 10)...
What is the solution ?
Thanks in advance,
Rene Vigneault

The Nero Blu-ray player was discontinued in v2016. We'll have to deal with v2014 tomorrow (my battery is going dead).

Wow !
Thanks a lot, it works like a charm with all my Bluray DVDs and even reads my european standard DVD.
Wish I had known this before uselessly buying NERO Platinum 2016...
Thanks again ! -

My comment was directed to making v14 work. You might be able to get a refund for v2016.

I am still very interested in learning how to make v14 work (and would very much like a refund for v2016...)

Since you purchased v2016 because the blu-ray player didn't work in v14 and the blu-ray player isn't in v2016, send an e-mail to tech support via the contact form at nero.com, support, contact, technical support. They should have no problem giving you the rebate (in my opinion).
There are a number of routes we can take to get v14 to work properly. I don't have time to go into them right now but should be back this evening.
What exactly happens when you try to read a blu-ray disc? -

I get the message to the effect that this disk cannot be read. If I ask again to open the movie, the message reappears.
As for the refund, I will send a request with the Email they sent me in answer to my question concerning the fact that the bluray reader stopped working when I migrated to Windows 10.
They told me that Nero 2016 was fully compatible with the new version of Windows without mentioning that there was no bluray reader in v2016... -

I need to know the exact message you get with the blu-ray player.
As a first crack at this, please go here-
C:\Program Files (x86)\Nero\Nero Blu-ray Player
Right click on the blu-rayplayer.exe. Select Properties. In the Compatibility tab, set the compatibility mode to Win 7. Also, check the box to run as administrator. After applying the changes, double click on the .exe file and then try to read a disc. -

I tried your suggestion and I still get the pop-up windows saying: "Impossible to read this multimedia support".

Do you have a N or KN version of Win 10? If so, download and install this-
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downlo...
Does that help? -

Try opening Control Panel, System. It may detail it under Windows Edition.
Also, would you post a screenshot of the error message? You would probably have to use PrintScreen on your keyboard. That would put the image on the clipboard. Then paste that into something like Paint and save it as a jpeg. -

Rene,
The Windows 10 versions Wither 1 is referring to have no Windows Media Player
"Microsoft was required to create the "N" editions of Windows after the European Commission ruled in 2004 that it needed to provide a copy of Windows without Windows Media Player tied in. The costs of the N Editions are the same as the full versions, as the Media Feature Pack can be downloaded without charge from Microsoft" (from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows...).
There are many posts in the forum about the "Cannot play this media" issue over the past several years. Here is a partial list:

The bottom line is that Nero is not and will not be supporting the Blu-ray Player. Incidentally, there is only one Nero Blu-ray Player for all of the latest versions. -
