Unable to remove MediaHome

I have attempted to use Programs and features/Uninstall to remove Nero MediaHome 2015 Unlimited and MediaBrowser. Both continue to occupy lots of space on my computer. How can I successfully remove these programs? I have wasted $39.99 on a product that is effectively useless.

  • Loading it and having it search for all photos and videos took several hours. Then just attempting to browse for anything took a looooong time. The only new feature that I hoped to be able to use watch projecting something to my TV, and that seemed not to work AT ALL. Since the program was so slow, I decide to remove it. Doing a normal add/remove procedure only removed the entries in Add/Remove. All the program material and the shortcuts entries in the Start menu remained. Over 500 MB of material is still left in Windows Explorer. I just want it gone.

  • In regards to the searching, open Options and select the Library. Remove any entries that are whole drives or partitions. Then manually add the folders that contain your media to the Library. That way, it will only look in those folders when it starts up.

If you're referring to streaming, make sure it's enabled in Options, Streaming and that your TV is shown in the Devices section of Streaming. If that doesn't help, provide a description of what's happening.

What is the 500 MB of material that you're referring to? Please be specific about where it's located.

  • I know you are attempting to be helpful, and I thank you. My primary intention, however, is to completely purge all this material from my computer. Having already run the traditional Add/Remove utility part of Windows and failed to remove the program (having removed ONLY the entries in Add/Remove and the shortcuts in Start/Programs, I am dismayed to see that there seemingly is no way to remove all the program material and Registry entries short of doing it manually. That is a fault in the way the program was designed. There are other programs that permit me to do most of what this program offers, so I will attempt to get rid of this and move on. Suggestions as to how that might be accomplished most effectively would be appreciated. Thanks again.

  • Okay.

You can run a registry editor like CCleaner or Revo to try to remove things from the registry. I don't normally recommend those things because they can cause more harm than good. They'll never find everything related to Nero or Nero MediaHome.

I assume you don't have any other Nero products. If not, go to C:\Program Files (x86) and delete the Nero folder. There are other entries in

    C:\Users\"your user name"\AppData\Roaming\Nero and \AppData\Low.

I could go on and on but don't have time for it.

You didn't answer my question about the 500 Mb.
