Uninstall old version 1st?

I just purchased an upgrade online (2016 Platinum) Can I uninstall previous versions before installing 2016 Platinum?

  • Leigh, for what it is worth...
I never uninstall any program until I am certain the new one is working properly... Some programs overwrite old one, and you don't have a choice...
If not overwritten, keep it until you are familiar with the new one...
This also depends on the space available on the drive you are installing it to... You might be forced to uninstall the old one... This comes from years of knowledge, but it is still your option....

  • I have 2 previous versions installed, but I do have a lot of space left on my hard drive. I think I will leave these on just to be safe, but I will perform a backup just in case I have to revert. Thanks for your advice Izzy.

  • If the question is about having to have previous versions installed for the "upgrade" to work ... You don't need any previous versions, the "upgrade" is a full standalone version.

(Bear in mind that 2016 does NOT include the Blu-Ray player, so if that is important to you, then you can retain the Nero version that had it, or do a custom re-install later, to put only the Blu-Ray player part back on your computer.)

p.s. Previous versions of the installers are kept on the Nero archive server ... so retain your serial numbers if you intend to re-install older versions later ...
