Video capture from internet

I previously use my video card to capture video from the internet. In this version of Nero I don't find to do as well. It just gave me the video camera from the computer, not the card installed to take over the capture process.

  • Are you talking about a TV card or a graphics card (GPU)?

    • In regards to playing back movies on your hard drive, you should have Nero MediaHome to play them. It's common to every Nero version starting with v10.

I don't know how to capture using a video card in any version because you would need to physically connect something like cable to the card. Not sure how that works. Perhaps Nero (see below) will be able to shed some light on how to do this.
    • I have Nero MediaHome and it play the movie from the dvd player, and play videos. It doesn't play the menus from movies downloaded to the computer, like: selection of the chapter, language, and others; I have to select the chapters one by one (like videos) without any menus that provide me the others functionalities.

    @Stillzar,

basically there should be no essential differences inside of the video capture module comparing Nero 2014 and Nero 2016.

    Please explain more clearly:
    - which kind of card you use for capturing? Manufacturer, driver version, etc.
    - which signals do you record (analog/digital) and how do you connect the card with external sources?

    • Hi Stillzar,
Is it Nero Video "Capture from Camera or TV"?
I only have the option to capture from my Webcam (Laptop) ... so I'm not sure how you select other devices. Perhaps someone else will offer help on that.
    • Thanks. Its from the same computer. The video or graphic card I had, captured from the internet from an earlier versions and other free software in their basic and standard applications.

  • If I understand Stillzar correctly, he confirmed what I said about all the versions. There's no options to capture from a graphics card. He hasn't identified what he used to capture using his card or how he set it up.
    • You understand correctly, unfortunately you driving in the wrong way. What I pretend to say is that in Nero 2014 or Nero Platinum 2016 don't have this option but earlier software had it. Still Roxio Creator has it, Cyberlink has it, earlier Nero has it, and others software have it, in their free software and basic standard. And I really identified where I can select this options, so if it doesn't appear it is because Nero just eliminated this options. Would be easier if you just told me that. Thanks for your effort. I appreciated it.

  • I have every version back to v8. I looked in the help file and there is no mention of a graphics card use in either the Capture options or the option to Import from the Web in Nero Vision (now Nero Video). You didn't specifically say which app your were using.

Recode has the ability to import video from the internet and, once imported, one can choose to use hardware acceleration (meaning the graphics card) for the recoding. However, that's not capturing.

I didn't look at versions earlier than v8 so I can't say if the option you're looking for was ever in Nero.

You can always go to nero.com, support, contact, technical support and fill out the contact form and submit it. If you do, please let me know what they have to say. Nero has a huge number of features so it's possible that I don't know where what you are looking for would be.
