I purchased 5 user licence. On my laptop, I installed VDU as per the instructions. VDU arrow appeared in the task bar. When I double click on the arrow, menu screen appears and nothing happens.
On the other computer, another arrow icon appears on the right upper corner of the screen and when I open youtube the downloadable items are shown in the menu. But this does not happen on my laptop. What am I doing wrong?

Hello Suresh-
When I double click on the VDU icon on my desktop, it creates an arrow on my desktop (and shows VDU on the taskbar). Clicking on the arrow on the desktop, opens VDU. -
-
That is exactly what is NOT happening on this particular computer.
When I double click on the VDU icon on my "desktop shortcut" or the icon on the taskbar, a menu is appearing and it is NOT creating the arrow on my desktop as it should be. -
-
All that happens when I click on the arrow is that a menu appears. You're getting the menu without that arrow.
Does the arrow display when you're browsing the internet? -
-
I think I found the answer. In the menu, select settings. Under UI, uncheck the box to "show icon only if mouse pointer is close to it", if it's checked.

Thanks for looking into this for me. I looked at that very option myself; NO, it had been unchecked all along and I never checked that box either.
One more thing I noticed was when I double click a similar small 'arrow icon' appeared in the sys tray and that icon has an 'x' mark on it as if there is something wrong to open the app as it supposed to be. I can't figure out what was that something that's wrong. I thought of windows firewall blocking the program from running; I couldn't find anything wrong there. I wanted to check the 'certificate' but I couldn't figure out how. If you know how or have any ideas, please advise. -
-
When you open the menu, is the icon in the top left corner white/green or is it white/red? It should be white/green. When I change it, I see what you're seeing.

I am sorry; I don't see any icon in the top left or right corner. The only icon that appears for few seconds (when I double click the icon in the task bar) is in the sys tray with an 'x' on it.
If you are talking something different, please elaborate a little bit. Thank you. -
-
I don't have the program installed on this system. I was going to give you a screenshot this morning but I didn't have time. I'll get you one tomorrow.

There is a little change in the way the app is working. Now when I open the browser, the icon appears on the right upper corner; but it still has the 'x' on it and it does not open the list of downloadable videos. I took 2 screenshots with my iPhone. Please see them.

You said there is a "menu appearing". The menu I see is a rectangle with a row of icons across the top (one is for help, one for settings, etc.). the rectangle also has options to upload to Pro and Exit (There may be other things).
-
By the way, one doesn't double click on the task bar unless it's set up that way (I don't know how to do that).

Just as an aside ... if you want to download a YouTube video ...
Free YouTube Downloader works well for me ...
The only problem is that it only works on YouTube ... not other video web sites.
Also, if you install it, watch out for "crapware" during the installation, and be sure to untick anything extra that is offered during the installation.

I used that downloader when my browser was firefox. Now My browser is google chrome. I am happy with chrome all except this download app. This VDU is the only one that works with chrome. I had to pay for this app. It works well on my desktops; it is my laptop, I am having problems with.

I should mention that this menu appears when double clicking on the "desktop" icon.

Thank you. I get this menu on all my desktops (I purchased 5 user full version) but not on my laptop. On my desktop I get this menu no matter how I click it, one click on top icon, 1 click on task bar icon or any which way.
But my problem is the laptop; something is keeping that App from opening / working and I can't figure out what it is. I can't even reach the seller of the product to ask for support and help. -

oldmickthejoiner,
I did. It is perfect. Wonderful, thank you. I feel I wasted money on this VDU app; but like I always say 'don't look back'.
Thanks again.

VDU is a Nero app. You can always ask tech support about it by going to nero.com, support, contact, technical support and filling out/submitting the contact form. I presume it will work with a VDU serial number. If not, let me know and I'll try to find the right person at Nero to help you with it.
It could be that your anti-virus or Windows Firewall is preventing you from activating VDU.-
Do you know somebody at Nero?

-
Sorry to answer a question with a question, but were you able to submit the contact form?

I am sorry; I must be doing something wrong. I am unable to get the page for support, contact, tech support at nero.com. Will you please give me a little detailed instruction or a link? Thank you.

When you go to nero.com, the "Support" access is at the very bottom of the page on the left hand side.
