why does my software not work after recovering hard drive

    What did you do to recover your hard drive? If you reinstalled Windows did you have to enter your Windows product key?

    Is that the only option it gives you. Perhaps a screenshot would help.

  • format , yes, well it was last week, and its done , in other words to late , format. lost all info , pics, files ect. i went to reload nero 9 from disc entered key, when to use it today and it gives me this im trying to load it on numerous computers i only have one puter.................

    Why would you make that comment? It's entirely untrue.

    I assume that you're using a purchased version of v9 and not an OEM version.

    Normally, when you reinstall v9, it will ask you why you're doing that. There is an option to say something like it's a permanent transfer, use on two computers and, I believe another. I don't remember the exact wording but, in your case you would select the first.

    You can send an e-mail to tech support@nero.com and explain the situation (include your serial number (don't post it here)). They can then reset your serial number.

    In addition, your disc probably doesn't have the latest updates to v9. You can download the last update (which is the full program) at nero.com, downloads, previous product downloads.
