Will Nero MediaHome create .ISO files from a CD?

I'm trying to figure out which version of Nero to purchase. Will MediaHome allow me to create .ISO files from a CD?

    No.

The only option to save a CD as an .iso file is when the CD is a data CD. You can do that in Burning Rom.

  • Well, maybe I should be more clear on what I want to do. I want to make a direct copy of a music CD, complete with any text and image information. Will Nero MediaHome do this? Or will I need Burning Rom?

  • It depends on what you mean by copy. Burning Rom will let you copy a disc to a like disc or to the Image Recorder (.nrg file which you can burn later from either Nero Express or Burning Rom.

If you simply want to copy the tracks off an audio CD, you would open Burning Rom and click on Cancel. In the Options, select Save Audio Tracks. You can specify the location for the files and their format. Of course, this will only work if the disc is not copy protected (this depends on the version of Nero you're using since the detection of copy protection varies widely among versions).

In Nero MediaHome, you can select an Audio CD in a drive and select Import CD. The disc will then be ripped to the Nero MediaHome Library. I think the location of the files is here-

    C:\Users\"your user name"\Music

You can always select all the files and add them to an album.
